The idea with sandbags, is that you only half-fill them so not only are they liftable, but they "mould" properly to seal gaps. You use quantity to make up for half-filling them. Perhaps 14 is the new lucky number...

With only 14 of them, you could name them. Something along the lines of:
    Scott Sandbag
    Virgil Sandbag
    Alan Sandbag
    Gordon Sandbag
    John Sandbag
    Jeff Sandbag
    Brains Sandbag
    Lady Penelope Sandbag
    Parker Sandbag

Coz they're just like International Rescue - but on a smaller scale...

    Fourteen sandbags...sheesh...

But the sticky name labels won;t stick :confused::confused:

How's you Hun and how;s Mr Cat????

Thanx for the heads up yesterday about the weather - I looked on the previous 12 hour historical forecast today and it seems you got the worst of it last night (along with Tunbridge Wells )

Hope you've managed to get the allotment all bedded down for winter....and if you really really want some furries... well :think::think: I suppose you could adopt a pair of house guineas ;) (once we have their health issues sorted out)...although Im not sure Mr Cat would appreciate the young pretenders

Will deffo arrange to see you soon

Sometimes you got to wonder if the EA *are* aliens...

Though its probably just that they're being staffed by moonlighters from the FSA - they've had a lot of "out of banks" experiences recently...

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Now now Z - that was funny :rotfl::rotfl: -

Actually in all fairness, the EA chappess who has responsibility for our area has been absolutely stirling..:A:A....so pro-active and motivated..(and able to kick the most stubborn bureaucratic bottom :rotfl:) ..and has moved mountains (although not streams...YET!! :rotfl:).....and, being as how I consider her to be pretty fantabidosi, is hopefully coming to the big shindig chez Wol next year so you can all meet her

Compare this to 2001 when we really were trying to get things done with all the authorities and nobody wanted to know....what a turnaround :T:T
    Bless her :A:A
    P.S. Top totty boys ;)

    Still dry :j:j
Piggies all still inside in rather cramped pet carriers pending poo collection tomorrow morning ......but all had "recreation" time today

Sheesh..what is it with piggies.....you give them a nice space to explore and they just sit there and wee and poo :wall::wall::wall:

Anyhow just off to eat, spent most of today writing up piggie histories for my newfound piggie mentor on the internet. And the good news is that despite now being off antibiotics for four days, no piggie has gone downhill :T:T

I have worked out the logistics/paraphenalia/individuals required for poo collection tomorrow morning :o:cool: and am now just trying to decide who to actually take to see vet tomorrow (....if ANY.....after all don;t want any of them to suddenly become a sacrificial piggie )

Tbh it will need to be Maple (because he started having a runny nose and has smelly wee so needs a swab) and unfortunately Grommie (for testing the lump that has suddenly appeared on his back as it could be another feature of this bug)

Hmm I have just realised I have still not finished posting the whole family..:o.will address that next week.

Thank you everyone :A:A:A:A for posting -you all are a real help and source of support and are very very much appreciated.

I am truly humbled to have found DFW and all the lovely peepies on it.

Glad you all survived, allotment all snug under a foot of manure ( is it weird that I love that stuff ? - the steamier the better ;)

Cat not kind to smaller creatures so sadly unable to adopt. Will continue to be Auntie Lula though :)

    DFW rocks

I am glad you and the piggies survived the awful weather and the stream stayed put as opposed to getting all excited and travelling outside of its boundaries:D

I saw my aged parents yesterday (my mum would kill me for daring to say that she is aged) anyway she has been watching something on the telly and has now ditched her old-fashioned jewellery in favour of trendy new stuff as it makes her look younger:rolleyes: Dad is having problems with his gnashers and he has developed a nasty habit of taking his falsies in and out and leaving them on the dashboard in the car:eek: He won't eat properly because he also refuses to allow mum to cut up his food so instead she has to sit there and watch him quiver and shake because his congestive heart failure has given him the shakes, whilst he tries to cut his dinner into bite sized pieces - any offer of help turns into a blazing row:rolleyes: Mum is refusing to go to the doctors about her foot - she broke it last year and refused to deal with it and now it has healed but a lump has formed so each step is painful - she won't go because she needs an op and doesnt want to wear a plaster cast because she is worried about dad:rolleyes: Still they sent me £50 for my birthday and mum made a card which is so lovely that I want to frame it so she gave me a frame too. The Christmas orders have gone in too - book tokens and she is going to get dad a book from me and herself a book from me (I can't get the books as she knows what dad has read and what he hasnt). So I am back at home trawling through 300 spam emails:rolleyes:

Glad to see that you got rid of deeply dippy - if she does write then you can always put on the envelope return to sender:rotfl:
