By this time...I think my defenses were really shot to helland back as I finally agreed that she could write to me...but i wouldn;t guarantee to reply
:wall::wall:
So how many hours before she writes to you again?
Of course the emails will start with "The poor starving orphans of Zambesia will die of obesity if you don't reply to this email..."

Truth is, I'm just coping myself, fed up of it, but there we are - its nothing big like you're going through, just the situation getting on top of me.
:grouphug:
Hope this is just a temporary thing brought on by the cold.

However - he has interpreted this as meaning that the problem in his carotid has completely disappeared (ie he is cured) and even though I tried to expain to him that the plaque was probably still there - just not big enough to cause an actual blockage that required an op to clear it, and that the same thing could be triggered again by the plaque unless he keeps on his medication and slows down, unfortunately he wouldn;t listen and is adamant he is cured....Wol sighs heavily......
Perhaps you need to be as brutal as your brother...

Wol,
glad to hear the situation with your dear Dad a bit clearer now, although not necessarily any easier to deal with.
As to Dippy Tart, sorry to say but her request to remain friends made me laugh :rotfl:Extremely sad 'fishing'.
Vet wanting to do a sacrificial PM on one of the piggies  -wrong wrong wrong
Saw many many lovely piggies at pet store earlier & thought of you, also bunnies & hammmies ... yearns for fluffy friends

Hi KC - here my dear, have some hugs....
:grouphug::grouphug:
Mulled wine is good for colds and very comforting - Sainsburys did a nice one last year (tescos one this year isn;t so good)...although i prefer to get a bottle of fruity ozzy red and make my own with clementines/oranges and whatever spices take my fancy. (Mental note to add to shopping list for this weekend)
Hopefully I will be back on the diaries next week to catch up now that things seem to be evening themselves out here
xxx
Thanks Wol. Mulled wine sounds good! I've stopped streaming and am dry-coughing:grouphug:
Hope this is just a temporary thing brought on by the cold.
:grouphug:
Its the cold that has temporarily overwhelmed me  how's that for a word slicing? To tell the truth, I feel like everything has overwhelmed me, and I just need to get a bit more fit and get more sleep, and that will stop. Speaking of which, I'm off for a lie-down. Thank you!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi All
Looks like friday the 13th is about to repeat itself. Stream primed by over half an inch of rain during the night and was up to bridge level at 7am this morning.
25mm rain forecast to drop beyween 6pm and midnight. I predict it will go "out of bank" (quaint term used by the Environment Agency) at about 9.30pm tonight if enough of that rain falls in a short space of time.
Unfortunately i think Piggie Palace may get hit this time (Although I hope not)
So I have notified the Environment Agency, who are coming to clea all obstrcutions between now and 6pm; talked to the next door neighbours and explained to them what they should expect to happen tongith and what preparatios they need to make and ordered a load of sand bags to be delivered for us both this afternoon from the County Council. Unfortunately, unlike last week when they delivered to everyone else, they will not "place them" in front of piggie palace for me - they will be dumping them somewhere on the road and i will have to do the hard bit myself
Right - I'm whooshing off as I now have lots of preparations to make (and washing, baths etc to be done before 9pm after which I will lose the functioning of my drains for a while) and am not even half way through cleaning/disinfecting all cages/carriers yet.
Back later

Oh Wol, I do think you are amazing you know.
Sorry I haven't been posting, I have been reading (I too have an aged parent - she would kill me if she knew I'd called her that and know how bloody hard it can be to get any sense in or out of them re- health stuff I pray alot!)
My two girls are still petrified of me, I am going to move their cage to a different place - they won't be walked past as much (its been six weeks of me walking past them and they still freak poor loves)
I am so srry yours are ill, when the rats all got sick at the same time it really wore me out, the checking, the vets, the meds, the weighing, the remembering it all.
I really hope the rain doesnt come and I repeat that I do think you are amazing
Many hugs xxxxxxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -

Hi Buffy
They will scurry away when you walk past for a good while longer yet. My pigs didn't properly engage until they were almost a year old and fully grown. And some still scurry away....like Iroko, Maple and Willow - but that is becuase they have not been handled as much as some of the others like Grommie. Sudden movements/shadows/noise will cause them to either freeze or scurry away as they are prey animals. They need to feel secure in their environment before they'll come out and talk to you. So lots of handling ("lap time") is needed - sit them on your lap and feed them their favourite veggies while stroking them gently and talking to them.

:mad:...sandbags dumped at top of drive.....all 14 of them:eek::eek: - they were meant to be sending 40 :mad::mad:. 14 ain;t even enough do Piggie Palace - let alone the neighbours as well (mind you the neighbours do already have a load of old sandbags wich may be somewhat "decayed"...... and as, despite my warning, they seem to be rather laid back about their own preparations, it;s first come first served
:D
Anyhow have done the best I can with 11...and if they haven't taken the other three by the time it gets dark i will use those as well.:cool:

good luck wol, hope it doesn't flood as badly as you're expecting it to. sounds like we have the same neighbours always expecting someone else to do everything for them.0
