:mad::mad:...sandbags dumped at top of drive.....all 14 of them:eek::eek:
I hope you photographed them...
Fourteen sandbags probably would be just enough to keep one of your garden pots safe though..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I am a woman on a mission....
And the rain started with a vengeance 15 minutes ago -
Shed and garden checked and everything of value raised off the ground
All near neigbours alerted to what will probably happen tonight (Environment Agency rang back and said 30mm is forecast _pale_)
Piggie Palace cleaned, hoovered, everything inside off the ground and sandbagged (with all 14 sandbags).
Cages cleaned and disinfected (actually this flood alert has worked out well as I can leave the disinfectant on overnight and put pigs back in morning so it hasn;t actually disrupted my plans for today :T)
Pet carriers disinfected, littered and now containing hungry piggies - bless:smileyhea
Space cleared/reorganised upstairs for pigs
Just come back from Tatco with supplies for all of us
So
All piggies inside - check
Wol inside - check
Piggie playpens organised for stretching little leggies - check
Washing done - 3rd load on atm
Dishwashing done - check
Car off the drive - check
Outside and outbuildings secured - check
Torches in place - check
Wellies in place - check
Waders in place - check
Flood doors in place - check
Towels at the ready by front door - check
First glass of wine - oops......- check
Next:
Turn hoover back into aquavac (just in case water slowly seeps through flood doors as apprently they may not be 100% watertight)
Brief clear up downstairs (not much to do as Z :Akindly took it all upstairs on friday 13th and errmmm it hasn;t actually made its way back down yet)
Ensure all piggies are fed, watered and allocated to upstairs or downstairs depending on infectious status
Cook and eat dinner - comfort food tonight - liver & bacon, mashed potato and green beans...nom nom
Unstack dishwasher from earlier on
Settle down to a cosy night in (hopefully unless the power goes off), doing the ironing, being on here and watching House ...oh and winning the lottery:beer:
Whoosh......Flooded 20/07/07.

Cheers for that BOB me hearty.:beer:
How's you Hun...hopefully you survived all the wet weather thrown at you over the last few weeks and had no "excess run off" to cause you any probs...........hmm ............just realised that could be taken one of several ways :rotfl: I didn't originally intend it to be a veiled reference to Mr BOB:rotfl::rotfl:
..I am really hoping that tonight I will find out once and for all whether the flood doors work and whether piggie palace is high enough or can be protected from "the normal flooding pattern" that seems to now becoming a regular occurrence each and every year, because that means I won;t have to lose any more sleep over this.
July 07 when we had 55mm of rain fall in less than 55 mins really was an "adverse event". The stream has burst its banks many times before that (including at 10pm Christmas eve the first year I moved in, and i had the whole faily including newly born niece and nephew coming round for Christmas lunch :rotfl::rotfl:)..but until July 07 I have never had water inside the house. It came close in 2001 and if it weren;t for the fact I;d sandbagged my airbricks in advance, I would have ended up in a mess like everyone else in the road that year.
The Environment Agency have classified the extent of the flooding in July 07 as a 1 in 55 year event. (I thought that meant it would happen once in 55 years......Oh No - silly me - apparently it means every time there's rain, there is a 1 in 55 chance each year of July 07 happening all over again. I think they meant it is a one in 55 chance of being a "yearly" event:rotfl::rotfl:.....bit "out of bank" I think :rotfl::rotfl:)
Anyhow, I'm pretty Ok with all this tonight - I;ve done all I can, I'm pretty confident about the vigilance/prediction in terms of the stream's behaviour now and if the flood doors work then I only need to worry about Piggie Palace in future..... so bring it on mother nature:cool:...just wish you;d wait until House has finished :rotfl::rotfl:
Take care Hun..:kisses3:
