sorry to hear about your piggies Wol, hope they start to feel better soon.

Possom was also the runt and i chose her as my sister (who had her mum) thought she was blind and was worried that no one would love her. She always had a blue glint in her eyes so we were never 100% sure how good her eyesight was.

They manage perfectly well though don;t they? Pierrot, Whisp's sister (who is now with Smashedbooboo) had to have an eye removed after naughty Muffin and Pebble set upon her..(won;t go into details._pale_..)...but hey, last time I saw her, you would never know...such a lovely piggie and showing no signs that actually she only has limited vision.

Blindness is normally manifested by milky, cloudy opaqueness in the eye. Whisp isn;t blind... yet in the piccie she reflects blue......;)

I'm sure Possom had a lovely life with you to love and care for her.

Hi Wol, just popped in to wish you and 'the family' all the best.
You must be knackered with all the running around you are doing (does that count as humour too?)

Don't forget to take some time out for yourself while looking after everyone else.

Lemon Tree, me too, I'm sorry Possum's gone. I'm glad that you were at home, and able to send her off.

The Rainbow Bridge adaptation for guines pigs is lovely. I have a version thats set out as poetry, but it reads like prose:

Just this side of Heaven there's a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all our special friends so they can run and play together
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour,
those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remembered them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing - they miss someone very special to them, who had been left behind.
They all run and play together but the day comes when one of them suddenly stops and looks into the distance
His bright eyes are intent; his eager body begins to quiver.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted and when you and your special friend meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your beloved pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then, you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.

I found this just at the time my beloved first cat died, and when a year later the second one (her daughter) died, I stuck it on the inside of a kitchen cabinet, and its been there ever since.
