Oh Wol, I'm so sorry you're feeling this bad. You're absolutely right about the not being talked out of it - we simply *can't* be talked out of stuff that exists at this depth of our psyche, thats not realistic. Take the time you need for all of that healing and development. And as for feeling like this is all a bad dream, well. The life you're grieving, the one thats gone, that on its own is enough to make you feel like that. But in addition you've got the flood and the floor and the piggie health problems, and your own health problems.

The only thing I'd say is to be careful of the really unhealthy coping mechanisms - like too much alcohol. Note I say "too much", not "alcohol"! Just walking to the centre of the village and back, doing some deep breathing in the meantime, can be helpful enough to let you do that. What do *you* like to do to cope in a healthy way?

Thanx Taxi and Kc both :A:A

Touche the coping mechanisms ...spot on ladies :T:T

    - To answer both of you......I DO need to challenge the psychotherapist next visit re the alcohol..I don;t think she's realised the full implications to withdrawing the previous (albeit unhealthy) "other" coping mechanisms (i.e. the whips and self flagellation :o) - at least they didn;t involve booze...... which 'twould appear is now the replacement of choice :o

."Too much too young " (as The Specials would say..ooopps showing my age :o)

ATM...all I can think of is Freddie Mercury and Brian May classic video ("I want to Break Free") :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:....'scuse me while I "don" my vacuum cleaner and short leather mini skirt:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have been in tears most of this (early) evening since I posted the "revelation" about Stage 4 grief (or whatever stage it is - internet stuff all varies ) ...thank you both of you for your responses..:kisses3::kisses3:...they mean a lot :T:A

:kisses3:In this sort of situation, tears are good, honestly. Just keep yourself hydrated - I know that sounds ridiculous, but if you're really crying, you can give yourself a headache into the bargain ..... :kisses3:

Wol, I'm shutting down the computer now, I'm off to a games evening (board games!). Take care of yourself.

Wol..sorry to hear of all the hassles with the house and various building types, good news about the family member though. As for coping mechanisms..ditch the booze, stop smoking, get yourself some large rugs and beat the carp out of them or take up squash..that way you can get angry with an inanimate object without hurting yourself.

This is just a flying visit as I have a skype call coming in..over and out xx

Wol - good days, bad days, such things our lives are made of. I suspect all your frenetic activity over the past few weeks may have been a subconscious effort to hold at bay these troubling, nagging feelings that are now surfacing.....you just have to ride them out, however awful they make you feel. At least you have friends on here, plus your counsellor, plus your knight in shining armour Sir Numpty who I believe will be winging his way to you very soon to provide that well-needed bit of human contact involving hugs, big shoulders and where necessary boots up the backside. Soon this dark cloud will have passed over and the sun will venture out for you again.
