Right - talking of filth - my vacuum cleaner bags arrived today :(...which means I now have no excuse.

I had a really nice (if very long) day yesterday..Client was OK and didn;t keep me hanging around too long - and I actually had time to do my weekly shop at an Asda nearby (no Asda's near me) before going into Wembley to meet friend.

Great catch up as haven;t seen them since November, loads of laughs and despite the fact that Wembley is a complete dive for pubs/restaurants...we found a great Thai nearby.

Kelly Clarkson decided to completely "buck" her image on the CD covers and turned up on stage wearing jeans, T shirt and cardigan (we though at first she was the roadie testing the mike :rotfl:). She is tiny and was completely lost on stage and clearly very nervous as it was her biggest gig in the Uk to date apprently - and then her voice rang out clear as a bell and there was no need for flashy costume - we were all completely focused on her singing.....Fantastic

Got back at 1.30am and slept in late this morning, then read some of my new (serious) book in the bath.....very illuminating and recommended by my cousellor

.......and am now settling in to have a pootling day reclaming the house and doing the ironing.

I've decided this will be a "no pressure" weekend..The only "should/must do" is sort out the piggies and the carriers for their impending trip on monday..As far as the house goes, what gets done gets done, what doesn;t moves to tomorrow......or the next day....

...and with that I am off to sort out the dishwasher :D

Hope you are all having a good day

    Back later

I can;t remember if I set the 17th or the 24th (insert confused smiley)...and why I chose that particular date originally .......will trawl back through the diary .... and have think........

Ooh, do we get votes? Can I vote for it being the 24th if so? Its down as the 17th in my diary :( thing is, my mum and my sister are taking me on holiday for a week... on Friday 16th which is :j for the holiday and :( for the timing.

Hey ho, its my problem. You're having a pootling day! Thats :j:j:j I'm having a pootling afternoon, after managing, for the first time since November, to have a quick trip into my local town centre to wave at the shops. All I managed to do was bank some cheques and go to Waitrose (who've sold out of my favourite pesto ) and I didn't manage to get my hair cut, even, but I'm still a happy camper, for having got out of the rut even temporarily.

    Have a good weekend, sweetie.

Hi KC - yay - great you got out :j:j...even if you didn;t get your hair cut......and after all, who would want to pay to have their hair all nicely done only to get it whipped to death in a freezing cold wind/sleet/snow the moment you stepped outside.......(Wol's alternative definition of bad hair day :rotfl:)

But......pah and pants to no pesto

Will ring a few people this week and see if 24th is Ok for them....:D

The book is called "When you and your mother can;t be friends" by Victoria Secunda....mainly for daughters - but useful for mothers and sons too ;). However it should be stressed that this is not for normal mother/daughter relationships - it;s for daughters of extremely toxic mothers and describes the different methods these mothers resort to, the sad reasons why they do it :((ie what's going on for them) and the fundamental issues it creates for the daughter in terms of their self-esteem and life choices :o

The events a couple of weekends ago with my mum....and all your wonderful supportive comments in response..:T.finally opened the door to my light bulb moment in the counselling.....For the first time someone (i.e. you peepies here) actually validated the fact that her behaviour towards me was quite unreasonable and in fact downright cruel. I had never been "permitted" to think that way before :o....her behaviour has always deemed to be "normal" by the rest of the extended family and it has been I who have the problem.

Nargle really focused in on it - the fact that I not produced any grandchildren and then dared to have the wrong tumour shows the true extent to which I have always been expected to live my mother;s life for her (i.e. she only seems to be able to live through her children) .....and am held reponsible by her for her emotions :o.

Hopefully the book will enable me to understand the motivation behind my mother's toxic behaviour to me (mothers treat each of their offsrping differently and the book also describes why this is the case and how it impinges on the rest of the family dynamics) so that in future I won;t take it so personally and be able to deal with it more constructively.. And it will help me to further understand the true extent that this (to date extremely damaging) relationship has had on my life/choices/wellbeing....I am still gasping over the true extent to which, I now realise, this dynamic has pervaded my life to date

It also ties in with the self sabotage - as this is a direct result of that toxic relationship. I always seem to pick situations/people/jobs that create a situation of constant criticism/undermining etc (i.e. "no win") which is damaging for my mental well being....(I have never worked in a job where I haven;t been badly bullied)..and then wonder why I feel so carp....and then beat myself up because it surely means I am failing in some way or in the wrong....

I could go on all night and I have only reached Chapter 3..:rotfl:...but I do strongly recommend this book to anyone who has low self esteem or confidence issues and also thinks that maybe their mum is perhaps not "playing fair" or "is difficult" ;)

    Here is a classic "mini" self-sabotage :o

Spent this afternoon creating a beautiful shiny clean decluttered kitchen (to the extent I even washed down paintwork and walls). :T:j:beer::cool::D

So what did i do? I looked at my handiwork and said ..".by gum, this is a nice kitchen, I think I'll now do some batch cooking":doh::doh::doh::doh:

So the rubber chicken (having already produced two main meals and two lunches) is being seriously stretched...;)...4 chicken stew portions (with leeks/carrots/potatoes) are now ready for the freezer and 4 meals for chicken/broccoli and sweetcorn bakes will be prepared later (when the potato and leek soup thaws). The carcass is having the bejesus [STRIKE]boiled[/STRIKE] burnt out of it as i write (together with the leek and onion outer bits) to create stock...and lamb steaks (use by date yesterday) have been sliced and are currently being baked (with the remaining quarter aubergine/celery/onions/tomato/kidney beans) in the oven ready for tonight and hopefully two future freezer meals.

(Mental note Wol needs a proper freezer to put in piggie palace as she only has a diddums one atm that is full to bursting )

End result - kitchen looks like bomb has hit it (again)...i.e. back to square one and me feeling frustrated ..:doh:..cos, guess what, my kitchen "still" looks as carp as it did this morning :rotfl::rotfl:
