Thats a brilliant price, and the 5 yr guarentee, like you say the £400 py for BG, that pays for the boiler (although its apain paying it in one go).
We've literally cut our bills by 60%, its wonderful, something simple like the control valves on the raidator, each rooms individually controlled, think they our heating to cut in when the temp dropped to 18C, but we dropped it 16C, even 2 degrees you don't notice, as you build up warmth in the room.
You were lucky the bloke found the leak, it could of ended up with a big flood, but sounds like your getting a gd deal. xx
Yes I'm really looking forward to all those things....will be done in a couple of weeks:T:T0 -
in the nicest of ways - you've got your head screwed on, you've done all the figures, and you say, its better to have the money incase of emergency, and you've got back up plans ready. xx
Thankyou:D:D:D....I have about 3 plans for paying so no worries.DHs biggest concern was if we used the savings and something major went on the car and we wouldn't have enough to fix it!!!...so he had a valid point..so glad he is coming up with ideas..I'll make an MSER of him yet:rotfl::rotfl:0 -

If my internet banking does it take long to actually hit your other account. Sorry for the nosey questions but i'm thinking of getting the account for the £5 and am tempted to leave Shabbey, but need to know all the details before i make my final decision.
Course you can:p:p:p
If I was just starting up ...I would send £1k from my A+L account(because A+L have a £250 limit on FP it would go by BACS) ..so this would take 3 days....it lands in my Halifax account and then I leave it at least overnight....and then I transfer it from my Halifax account to DHs Halifax account.(so just an internal transfer) ..leave it for a day ..and then would send it back to A+L(instant with Halifax FP as limit £1k)
If you are going to use the account yourself for main banking then you only have to credit £1k per month anyway...salary will do.
BEWARE ..their arranged overdraft if you use it is £1 per day that you use it !!!
I then tranfer out the £5 from DHS account to mine and then send £10 to egg.
I usually have the spare £1k already in my halifax account and about the 2nd of the month send it to DHS account for a week or so and then send it back to mine and then each has been funded.0 -
Hi Taxi boy you do get up really early:eek: Glad you sorted out your decision re the boiler money 0% sounds good. Wish I could get a card with 0% on ! Ahh well one day none of us will have the dreaded cards:rotfl:
I don't normally get up that early but if I fall into a deep sleep on the couch early evening I sometimes wake a 3am/4am so then get up and go to work:eek::eek::eek:
I have terrible sleep patterns and sometimes I get up late as well..I never know.
Am definitely looking forward to the day of having no cards:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
The MOET will be out that day....I can guarantee that...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Need to nip out to DSs house as he needs some freezer bags so will catch you all later.xxx0

I only sounded chipper as I got up at 2am!!!!..and then spoke to DH about stuff and was wide awake by 3am....hence why my post made sense:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Glad to see you are forward thinking on your cards:o:o:o
It would definitely be best to use cards that you already have as it's quite hard getting 0% ones now.:eek::eek:
If you have another MBNA one there with a nil balance that would be best as they are excellent at giving repeat 0% deals and also LOB deals.
You obviously can't transfer Virgin directly onto another MBNA card as they are the same school but you can money tranfer into your current account and pay that to Virgin from there:T:T:T
My goodness you were up early.
I have aready done the MBNA shuffle. Actually thinking about it its MBNA platininum that has the huge balance because OH had a virgin card cleared it, got a MBNA card and then shifted the limit from the virgin card on to the MBNA limit (which is something you can do with MBNA cards) leaving an £800 limit on the virgin card and a huge £22100 limit on MBNA and then we BTd to the MBNA card. We were hoping that sometime in the future virgin would do a repeat offer and then at some stage we would clear the MBNA card and transfer the limit back to Virgin and start again. Hope you are still with me:D Plan went down the pan when Virgin wrote a few months later cancelling his card. So because you only pay £25 a month on MBNA the balance is still huge. I do have 3 empty cards with a total limit of over £30k and OH has one with a limit £4900 so I am hoping that between them I will get enough 0% transfers but I would also like to reduce the balance owing too - do I make my life complicated or is everyone like this? - I was just so pleased get all the CCs on 0% but transfer time is stressful.

Blimey, taxi, you had to write a lot of replies there! The perils of popularity!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
the truth behind writing all the replies individually was taht I read them all but being tired thought that I would maybe miss somebody out..so decided to do one at a time..lol
DT when I get the 0% BTs I always try to pay off as much as possible just incase I can't move them again...it was easy to just pay min payment before and cocentrate on the ones with interest but 0% is harder to come by now.
Went to work at 5.30am again and am now really tired and need to catch up on all the diaries..still not done sig.
Nothing to report really..was quietish on the cab...0 -
thank you so much for your advice Taxi, i've been worrying about the o/d element of it. I've only been into my current o/d recently due to bloomin bank errors by shabby but they still have the cheek to charge me interest.
Think i may just fund halifax with the minimum (if they give me the account that is) and send the rest to my old account to keep that one active. but then i keep wondering. I think i have too much time as i seem to be under control with the saving for the first loan repayment so i'm spending more time obsessing about my current accounts lol0
