That sounds good, Taxi - and people are basically saying the same to you as the comments on my thread at the mo - that your feelings are what matters, your way forward is the way that you choose. And you'll be toasty!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

supposed to be working,, but keep getting side tracked by wanting to catch up with the dairies:o:o
hi taxi
:xmassign: :santa2:WAS DEBT FREE & STILL BAAARRRRRKING
hello my name is shaun,,,and im not so addicted to farmville, still addicted to football:o:o
BAAAARRRRRRRRRRKING er insanely so0 -
I think this is quite good value.
I've paid my 10% deposit and am provisionally booked in for 5th november to be confirmed tomorrow.
While I didn't want to be buying a new boiler at the moment..having this work done will pay for itself within a few years.
I will save on my gas bills as the boiler being a condensing one is supposed to be over 90% efficient whereas mine is only running about 50%.
I also pay for homecare 400...nearly £400 per year...I will not need this as I AM GETTING A FREE 5 YEAR PARTS AND WARRANTY GUARANTEE FROM WORCESTER AS IT IS EXCLUSIVE TO THEIR APPROVED CONTRACTORS ONLY...ALL I HAVE TO DO TO COMPLY WITH THAT IS LET HIM SERVICE IT EACH YEAR ..COST £65.00 P/Y....HE STAMPS THE LOG BOOK AND THATS THAT.
I need to pay within 7 days after installation.....but still it's another big job out of the way.
I just need to move some money around and change plans slightly but it won't make much difference to my end date hopefully...I'll be able to catch up.
Thats a brilliant price, and the 5 yr guarentee, like you say the £400 py for BG, that pays for the boiler (although its apain paying it in one go).
We've literally cut our bills by 60%, its wonderful, something simple like the control valves on the raidator, each rooms individually controlled, think they our heating to cut in when the temp dropped to 18C, but we dropped it 16C, even 2 degrees you don't notice, as you build up warmth in the room.
You were lucky the bloke found the leak, it could of ended up with a big flood, but sounds like your getting a gd deal. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
I'm up early today!!!!
Thanks all for your advice and help.I think we are going to pay it on DHS 0% card and when the tax rebate comes pay that straight off the card so basically only £600 extra to find once the tax rebate is paid off.
That will then leave our savings still getting interest and for emergencies.
Just checked our banking and the £4750 at 0% has gone in that with the £1800 on 0% will go to Virgin in a few days...and a small payment then that will be closed .
So plan pretty much as it was...I will recycle £1k through Halifax of the £4750 before sending it to Virgin though as I don't have the spare £1k at the moment.
Hope everyone elses boilers last out....and all have a good day xxxx
in the nicest of ways - you've got your head screwed on, you've done all the figures, and you say, its better to have the money incase of emergency, and you've got back up plans ready. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
taxi, please can i pick your brain, the money you recycle through Halifax, how long do you leave it in so that it gets the £5? and how do you move it? If my internet banking does it take long to actually hit your other account. Sorry for the nosey questions but i'm thinking of getting the account for the £5 and am tempted to leave Shabbey, but need to know all the details before i make my final decision.0

I have to shift a huge balance off Virgin by Dec but I dont want to start trying to do it until the end of the month as I am hoping to get some 12 month deals off my existing cards and I dont want them to run out before Oct payday next year so that any balance left I can pay off when I get paid but I am itching to get started because if I dont get deals I am going to have to close some cards and open new ones which makes it a bit tight:rolleyes:
Anyway good morning
DTxx
I only sounded chipper as I got up at 2am!!!!..and then spoke to DH about stuff and was wide awake by 3am....hence why my post made sense:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Glad to see you are forward thinking on your cards:o:o:o
It would definitely be best to use cards that you already have as it's quite hard getting 0% ones now.:eek::eek:
If you have another MBNA one there with a nil balance that would be best as they are excellent at giving repeat 0% deals and also LOB deals.
You obviously can't transfer Virgin directly onto another MBNA card as they are the same school but you can money tranfer into your current account and pay that to Virgin from there:T:T:T0 -

Definitely the feelings are very important for our mental and emotinal well being.:D:D:D
I think I've come up with the best plan possible ...for me....and am really looking forward to the savings on my gas bill...no monthly payments to BG and a warmer house.....
At the moment we have 4 rads upstairs ..so it gets hot quick(as we don't have rad control thingies on them) and only 1 radiator for the whole of downstairs and no thermostat thingy on the wall....this way we can set the thingy on the wall and will have 2 big rads down here and will keep them lower upstairs and the house can be set at a certain temoerature..am looking forward to that!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
