Thanks MUM2ONE..was that by BG or a private contractor?

That was a private contracter, done through warm front, they use their own team corgi installers, the two blokes doing ours where from Wales.

British gas or npower or e-on are pretty reasonable, think the electricity company beat British gas prices x

good luck with it, I know when we had ours done they were in for 2 days, left the back bolier in connected to the fire (but the fires been condemmend - on to the to do list - eventually), they put the combi boiler in dds wardrobe, as long as its near an outside wall, they were brilliant, no mess, didn't know we'd got them there.

Morning all...went to bed late and got up late!!!..seriously need to get my old sleeping pattern back.
Last night was spent wisely though..housework,MSE and researching boilers and gas safe registers./corgi etc.
We want a Worcester boiler so I went on their site and had a good read and am pretty sure which boiler we want. They also have their own approved installers on there and there is one 3 miles from here so am going to pop down and see them and get a quote off them.
So that's on the list of to do jobs today.Armed with the full quote from them (guess they'll have to come around for that) to see what work is involved then I'll get BG price and decide then but I think that the local contractor will probably be a better price.
Not a lot else to report just a loan payment out of the bankand will update figures later.

Hope you are feeling better - don't go doing too much if you've felt grotty.

Typical that you have your debt-free plan all mapped out and along comes an old boiler to challenge it - if only things wouldn't break down - we'd all be a lot better off.

Off to make some cocoa (don't like the instant chocolate drinks as they're far too sweet) and tuck myself up for the night.
