that sounds like a good deal to me taxi ...i need to think about a new one myself but i am currently burying my head in the sand about it all0

Thanks you two...
I've got £1730 in egg that can be used but was thinking that I'd take the £2000 I owe now out of the £4750 MBNA that I was going to pay off Virgin and then use the £1400 tax rebate to pay to Virgin and just get the other £600 from savings IF I HAD NOT MANAGED to clear that £600 off by the time the 0% deal is up...that way the savings are still in tact earning interest.
OR...I can use the savings plus a few hundred out of the O/D..
OR...I could use DHs 0% halifax CC
Anyone any idea what they would do please?0 -
if it was me i would go for the 0% route leaving some savings just incase ...you never know ...i am sure you will have it paid off before the 0% runs out so it shouldnt really be a worry for you ...
but thats just if it was me0 -
Thanks EL..that's my thoughts as well ...need to have emergency money for car...
Anyone else?0 -
My advice is simply to go with what FEELS right - it may be savings, or 0%, it doesn't really matter, as long as you feel comfortable with it.

Agree with the others - do whatever feels most comfortable for you. We are currently nursing our boiler hopefully until next winter - fingers crossed it holds out!

I'm up early today!!!!
Thanks all for your advice and help.I think we are going to pay it on DHS 0% card and when the tax rebate comes pay that straight off the card so basically only £600 extra to find once the tax rebate is paid off.
That will then leave our savings still getting interest and for emergencies.
Just checked our banking and the £4750 at 0% has gone in that with the £1800 on 0% will go to Virgin in a few days...and a small payment then that will be closed .
So plan pretty much as it was...I will recycle £1k through Halifax of the £4750 before sending it to Virgin though as I don't have the spare £1k at the moment.
Hope everyone elses boilers last out....and all have a good day xxxx0 -
You sound very chipper and organised for silly o clock how do you do it? Looks like the plan is coming together well.
I have to shift a huge balance off Virgin by Dec but I dont want to start trying to do it until the end of the month as I am hoping to get some 12 month deals off my existing cards and I dont want them to run out before Oct payday next year so that any balance left I can pay off when I get paid but I am itching to get started because if I dont get deals I am going to have to close some cards and open new ones which makes it a bit tight:rolleyes:
Anyway good morning
