Hi all...
Well..guess who had to come out again today?..yes BG..they'd left a water leak which we discovered when the Worcester approved conractor came to do the survey last night...it dripped hot water on his head....BG has fixed it today...blown seal!!!...I'm sick to death of them....6 times in less than a fortnight they have been out...
My BG contract runs out on the 6th December and I won't be renewing it!!!!....and I won't be getting a price off them to install one either.
Anyway....I nipped out to pick up the quote today for the worcester approved contractor and was quite impressed with £2242.00 inc VAT.
This is for:
REMOVAL OF OLD BOILER
SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF
WORCESTER 30SI COMBINATION BOILER ENERGY EFFICIENCY BAND A 12.3 LITRES PER MINUTE
1X STANDARD FLUE
SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF DIGITAL TIMER/ROOM THERMOSTAT DT 10 RF OPTIMISER
RADIATOR FLUSH AND INHIBITOR
PART NEW GAS MAIN FROM THE METER TO THE BOILER
SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF X7 THERMOSTATIC RADIATOR VALVES
SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION OF NEW RADIATOR IN FRONT ROOM 600X1200 DC
REMOVAL OF ALL WASTE LEAVE SITE CLEAN AND TIDY0 -
That sounds about right compared with what I paid a couple of years ago for mine. I would say go for it, if you are happy with the contractor and get the necessary gut feeling for it all.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I think this is quite good value.
I've paid my 10% deposit and am provisionally booked in for 5th november to be confirmed tomorrow.
While I didn't want to be buying a new boiler at the moment..having this work done will pay for itself within a few years.
I will save on my gas bills as the boiler being a condensing one is supposed to be over 90% efficient whereas mine is only running about 50%.
I also pay for homecare 400...nearly £400 per year...I will not need this as I AM GETTING A FREE 5 YEAR PARTS AND WARRANTY GUARANTEE FROM WORCESTER AS IT IS EXCLUSIVE TO THEIR APPROVED CONTRACTORS ONLY...ALL I HAVE TO DO TO COMPLY WITH THAT IS LET HIM SERVICE IT EACH YEAR ..COST £65.00 P/Y....HE STAMPS THE LOG BOOK AND THATS THAT.
I need to pay within 7 days after installation.....but still it's another big job out of the way.
I just need to move some money around and change plans slightly but it won't make much difference to my end date hopefully...I'll be able to catch up.0 -

I've gone with it...lol...
As much as I want to be debt and mortgage free ..I'm not prepared to freeze for 3 years.
I have a gut feeling they will be right and they are very busy with work...that's a good sign.0 -
Taxi, that sounds good value, and a really good idea, to get such an efficient one too. I'm glad you can go forward with it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
