Hi Taxi and all
Had a lovely couple of weeks in sunny (most of the time anyway!!) Cornwall - I've even got a bit of a tan - unheard of on me usually. It was very relaxing - no agendas - just took each day as it came and didn't do anything too energetic. Had some meals out - a fair few bbq's but often ate pasties and then called at supermarket and bought fresh bread and cheese style meals for a nibble in the evening. Lots of sea to watch - I could watch it all day. Still managed to get through a fair bit of cash - but it's only once a year.
I've spent the evening catching up with your diary and I'm so pleased that everything is is place for your op Taxi - do you know what kind of op it will be yet or is that decided at the time. Fantastic news about all the extra scans coming through clear - that must be a weight off your mind.
I'd urge you to get some Manuka Honey at least 10 plus strength. Morrisons do it and it is a lot cheaper than the health shops (think Tesco do too but it's on health food aisle rather than honey aisle) After my surgery I ended up with MRSA - (not intending to scare you there - I was so poorly and fell into every high risk category for getting it - I don't blame the hospital in any way - every precaution was taken - my immune system was picking everything up after the perforation and I think it's something like 30% population carry it without knowing) - but to cut a long story short within a week of starting the honey I'd healed and was clear of it - nothing else had worked. I kept taking it a couple of years regularly a teaspoon a day - and fall back on it now if I feel under the weather in any way. If you type 'Manuka Honey' in you should come up with a website telling of it's benefits. I scoffed at the idea of taking it - they also used honey and silver dressings - I couldn't believe the results it came up with - after all if the powerful antibiotics, silver dressings and cocktail of drugs I'd been on couldn't sort it what could a bit of honey do!!!!! How wrong was I LOL. I took it before I went in for subequent surgery and had no sign of any MRSA.
You are in my thoughts and am sending positive vibes, prayers and crossed fingers your way. We break up in 7 weeks and I'll be venturing to Blackpool during the hols on the train (I usually treat myself to a 'me' day out there) - I'd love to meet for a coffee - appointments and treatment allowing, of course - if you are up to it, it would be great to meet you.
Hang on in there - the worse will soon be over.
Hugs

glad you had a good time.
My op is a lumpectomy..where they take the lump out and surrounding tissue plus sentinel node removal.
Have been thinking of taking the Manuka honey and have seen it at 10+ in tesco etc for about £9...health stores do 15+ I think as well ..so will look it up...I am def clear of MRSA as I had swabs done at my pre op.
Would love to meet up for coffee...we can arrange that nearer the time x0 -
Great news Lenza and a lovely note of encouragement for taxi going into her surgery...think from what people are saying need to look into the honey for mum...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0

Thank you for all the good wishes, survived the exam, very handy room as I was next dr to the loo...... the OU really go out of their way to help, coz of health and the crutches, they arrange for me to have to have 1 to exam, local location and 30mins break on a 3hr exam, taken as and when needed it.
Bit shocked we'd been given a trial exam paper and last yrs exam but this was harder.
The 1st part you had to answer all 5 questions, they were based on each of the business subjects, then the 2nd part, again same subjects but more indepth and u picked 2. You can tell how difficult I found it, for one of my 2 choices I did a accountancy question, the subject I didn't study, bar the 1st 10 pages, but touch wood, I think I knew what I was doing, 40 is the pass mark, and as one of the ladies put on our OU forum, "look at it like this 40% pass, that means we can get 60% wrong"........ so now have to wait to September, but gave it my best xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
