Right....just been setting up accounts and doing banky type stuff....

    HALIFAX....
Mmmm...had to phone them as the paperwork they gave me yesterday states they will be transferring my A+L to them...Don't think so!!!!....that is now sorted.I was told whilst on the phone that if I deposited the £1000 now I'd be in time for the first £5 payment(they pay them first of the month apparently).
So I have added the new account to my Halifax online banking...set up a transfer on there back to my A+L account....then gone into A+L and done the same but have sent £1000 to them....so the day it arrives in halifax I'll send it back to A+L....

Virgin....I simply just went on internet and paid £10 for my PAD challenge.

Egg....got a little confused with that one(not hard) but think I've sorted it.I've set up my A+L debit card details in the address book..eventually and tried to send £1000 to them but don't know whether it's worked.Guess I will need to leave that a few days as I don't have £3000 to be transferring about...lol...
Egg shows the £100 I sent this morning but guess that'sprobably sent by faster payments whereas a £1000 might not be FP...and it's weekend.

I feel that I'm getting back into control and am feeling more positive.

There is no point in my update the virgin totals until I get a statement in as there's a little interest..so will just add them to PAD bit on bottom of siggy and update final total when bill comes in.

I also have a few hundred pounds here so will pay them off Halifax or Barclays on Monday.

Right off to do some other jobs now.

It certainly seems to have been a day for thinking and sorting of MSE stuff :T

All helps with the feeling in control of it all - and I really do think that "being in control" is half the battle on this journey we are on!

(8)Put another lot in and then hang out.....DONE

I've been having a good old think today...fuelled by Hypnos thread this morning...
    I now have a plan....
(1)..Put money in Egg account every week for tax and other stuff..this is called my debtfree pot...very apt.
(2)Make a PAD of £10 ...thisis what I would've spent on cigs to Virgin...while waiting to see if A+L are going to issue me the BT.
(3)All loose change to be paid in cash to Halifax or Barclays.

I've just ordered £40 from paypal and as soon as that hits my account I will transfer it to my Egg account along with any other MSE ways of making money.

    That's my plan anyway.

have done a few other things as well.

Right now ,I know how to do the above...great.
Just sat down with a nice(wellnearned,if I say so myself) cup of tea.
    All jobs are nearly done.
    Will post letter tomorrow.
Will finish shredding tomorrow...shredder has stopped working..I'm hoping it's just overheated.
I also decided after thinking (I know very dangerous) to phone American express to put my DD back up to full payment.I cleared it the other day.
It would be stupid of me not to carry on collecting the cashback on it as I use a lot of diesel and stuff...so I would be throwing easy money away really....
I was just going to pay for everything with my debit card but if I can use american express without going out of my way then I might as well as looking at the bigger picture ...that can amount to a fair bit over the years in my quest to be debt free....it all mounts up.
Not had any other ideas yet but am working on it...lol

I agree we have all been thinking hard the last few days....we will win the battle.

    I only spent £5.78 at Aldi ...I got a large milk,160 t bags,2 w/m loaves,2 packs garlic sausage(dh butties) and a flapjack(oops)...I shouldn't need anything for a good few days now.

Got x factor and these girls are awful...lol
  • Hi Taxi

You motivation/determination has certainly kicked in...me jealous?...err yes, throw some my way please...

As for the American Express that makes sense to collect the cash back but how does it fit with your income coming in daily and not knowing the figures etc as you were saying? Could you save all your receipts and pay it weekly so you don't have a lump sum to find monthly?

Well done on getting so much of your list done today.

    Hi KeepingMotivated...
    Catch...motivation coming your way.
I always used to pay it in full monthly..it's only since a few weeks ago that I haven't.I do see where you're coming from though...that's a good idea though...will have to give it more thought.

I'll be glad when I've got the final figures from DHS CC as it won't be being used from now..just waiting for it to catch up with itself..then I'll know exactly how much debt I need to get my sorry !!! into gear to clear...it's certainly a work in progress...lol
