Im with you on the mealplan deals. I think it tends to work better when all the kids are at school. I find it hard to keep to when they are home and worse now that Mr T is in and out of the house like a fiddlers elbow:mad:

Ive tried to think the day before then at least I can get something out of the freezer and be a little bit organised. Today is porky chops with mash n carrots in chops in the sc, so if Mr T is late at least it wont spoil. Tomorrow Im thinking chilli so must get the mince out now!

Mealplanning I will keep trying honest.:T

  • Meal planning is good. I used to make a list of 7 meals and cook them in the week when I felt like them. Helps stop over stocking. The only down side is if you cook all the easy stuff first!!

    £45 a good find Taxi :j

Hi all...Elantan ..to be honest don't know whether I'll manage on £40 until the end of the month.I plucked the figure out of thin air this morning.
We have quite a bit of stuff in the freezers and cupboard..so what I do I take the main thing out of the freezer the night before....decide what we are having with it...(i've loads of frozen veg in)...look to see if we have potaoes/rice/pasta/whatever ...decide what is needed..look to see if we need bread or milk and then go to the shop for whatevers needed only..lol...
Breakfast I've loads of cereals in...it's just a thing we are trying at the minute as I need to get to the bottom of the freezers so that they can be defrosted before being re-stocked.
Todays tea was roast chicken, bolied potateoes, broccoli and mixed veg and gravy.DH has took the remaining chicken breast on sandwiches to work.Tomorrow will be chicken, probably with pasta and sauce.
Today I've been and paid the taxi insurance ended up putting it on the 0% card...filled the car(tesco don't give double points at the garage!!!)....went to dealers and found that we need a set of brake pads because a caliper has jammed/snapped so they've ordered the caliper for tomorrow am....I'm putting it in for it's service as well...but they are only going to charge me for the service..so that's a good result....The pads and caliper will be done under warranty...n
    Nothing else to report...

    Hi Taxi

Wow - you've been doing well.

I've found meal planning really helpful to me. I know what I am going to eat so I don't have to think aobut it. It's been really helpful for the diet too! I guess it is a lot easier because I am living on my own most of the time. I failed tonight and gave in to the Chinese -but at least I have half left for tomorrow's dinner!

    Hope you are well x

I find meal planning very difficult. I think I'm going to try as Keeping positive suggested and make a list of 7 meals for the next 7 days and then just cook/eat them on the days we fancy them. Sounds so simple. Just remembered my parents do this, doh. My first week I'm going to try and do from whats already in.
