    Afternoon all,
    Not a lot to report...
    (1) made £10 PAD to virgin...will add total paid off to sig when I get the bill as slight bit of interest on it.
(2)£25 was taken for DHs BMI card this morning...will add total paid off to sig when I get bill as slight interest on it.
(3)Car loan went out today £322.31...added that to sig total as the amount showing on 1st post includes all interest on that loan.

It was a NSD for me today again so that's good.
Remembered to post the electoral roll thingymejig.
I walked to the PO to do the banking so saved fuel.
I've updated DHs Halifax CC total ..there's still a little to come through on that from last week...then I will be able to add our total debts up including mortgage and then it's completely down hill...Yahoo!!!!!

I stopped using the Halifax card last week so the debt will not go up now.
I'm now using the American express for the cashback and paying it in full againI'd be a fool not to use it as we spend a lot on fuel...it'll not be used for much else as we no longer shop at the big shops unless we need to.

Still feeling quite positive which is good.

I've decided that I'm going to do the accounts tomorrow....so that they are ready for the accountant. It will probably take all day as they have to be sorted into months and then all wrote out presentable.
This will then clear my mind.
I'm really looking forward to being able to do my sig properly as that really encourages me to carry on and is also easier for people to follow.
  • Good luck with that Taxi it will be worth the effort

    Morning everyone..Just..lol..
I've only been up about an hour!!!....I've checked all banking and that is all ok.Then I've spent absolutely ages trying to do my sig BUT it didn't matter which way I did it,it was too long. So,this is about the best I can come up with at the moment.Once I start getting rid of a few of the cards the rest may just fit..lol.
I've updated the 1st post and this is where I'll have to update figures as and when they come in.Some I can update straightaway as they already have the interest taken into account others I have to update once I get statements back.
I have some money here to pay off a CC....will be the halifax or barclays..haven't decided yet....barclays is 6.9% LOB the Halifax 0%....in oneway it makes sense to pay off the barclays because of interest BUT it also makes sense to pay it off Halifax due to it being a large 0% balance ...Virgin is also mostly O% so ..is just as important...hence the PAD.I
It's so hard to decide ...I also need to find some more ways of making money.
It will be another NSD today.
I feel good that I've now added up all the debt and because it includes my mortgage it doesn't really seem like much and I do feel now that I can achieve my goal of debtfree by 50!!!

well done for working out the whole amount. Though i have always dealt with the whole amount of my debt i've excluded my mortgage all this time and i think i'll stay that way for a bit longer. Did my numbers last night as i'd got my payslip and i will be officially half way there this month yay! and if i can stick to the plan i'll also be debt free in Oct 2011 which is 3 whole month sooner than the original target i had set myself.

    That's great news LT..well done.

Well,I decided to pay the money off the Halifax CC....So I've just been to the bank and paid £585 off....so am pleased with that.
Then I went to the PO and deposited the takings.
Then I went to the pet shop and bought the dog food £41.50....I also need to see how long this lasts for as well as I was buying 2-3 15kg bags a month...think I was feeding the dogs too much...so we'll see.
That's about it I think...still haven't started the accounts and DH is up now...

Wow it sounds as though you lot are well and truly on top of things! Go all of you!

Lemon Tree I think keeping the mortgage out of the equation for the moment is a good thing - get debt free first and mortgage free second! A lot of people don't count their mortgage as it would really skew the figures (and I still am not going to get Dr Dragon to buy me any chocolate!)
Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup :D

  • Good news on that Taxi, it is a good feeling when a card goes.

I only count my mortgage in the figures as it's a repayment and an offset. It's also very low interest 0.99% and I'm intending to be debt free and mortgage free at the same time roughly.
The reasoning behind the egg savings is because my mortgage rate is so low it's better to put overpayments in the EGG account before transferring it into another savings account at the end of the savings offer all the time building up to having enough in savings to clear the mortgage...it also doubles up as our tax account.I DO NOT count the savings as coming off the mortgage and won't do until they are paid off it.Overpayments directly to the mortgage just sit in the offset pot...offsetting the amount owed.IYSWIM....
My new mortgage figures each month are available online on the 3rd of the month..so this is the figure I will be posting....so as my mortgage is being paid off naturally and my savings are growing somewhere in the middle they should meet and then I can be mortgage free....Going to be cracking open a bottle of champagne the day we become debt and mortgage free..THE MAJOR CHALLENGE BEFORE I'M 50.
