Neighbour using my parking space

Thanks for the replies... I think I might contact the company we bought the flat from. They own 30% of our property still which we pay rent for, and we pay a service charge each month too so hopefully they should be able to do something about it.0

We had this but it was students from the nearby uni who were using the space so never usually the same car. We eventually paid £300 for a lockable bollard and now rent the space out for £60 a month. Check with the company you pay rent to if you'd be allowed to put up a bollard yourself - It could add value to your house.0

I agree with the bollard idea.
Or use the space to keep all your loose nails in.0 -
perhaps icould suggest that you pop a note on the car saying that its your space and whilst you dont want to deptrive them for somewhere to park that maybe they would like to rent it off you for a weekly amount
or that the space is required for xxx and that perhaps they could work out with you times when they are free to park
communication is the key here .. you dont want to alienate them because then they will park there as they know it annoys you

That's what my partner wants to do - he has friends over this Friday and wants to ask them to move just for that day. I disagree completely though, each flat has their own space and they should be using their own. I couln't tell them when they are free to park because the times I may have visitors varies.0 -
Is their space empty all this time?0

Hi Victoria.
Do you feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall??
You ask for some advice, you get a smart assed comment off james pir, then he posts another one proving he isn't reading the posts in the first place, then you get another reply from robpw2 telling you to do what you have already tried to do.
READ THE POSTS PEOPLE.
If you don't want to help, keep it to yourselves.
I think you are right, you pay a service charge, these people will probably own the lease on the land.
Ask them for a letter to be sent to each resident telling them whose spaces are whose, they should also number the spaces clearly.
I'm glad it's not me in your shoes, I think we would have had a punch up by now.
Good luck.0 -
they should also number the spaces clearly.
This is a really bad idea because it shows burgulars when you are out. Or if they break in and find car keys then they know exactly which car is their getaway car.
Photocopy your lease showing which space is yours and pop round with it in a friendly way. You might find they have a lease showing they own the same space!

Not at all a bad idea, I don't mean number the spaces with the numbers of the flats, just something that tells the owners of each flat whos is who.
Mix the numbers up if you like, that would really confuse them.0
