    signature update late but made!

haven't updated the grocery bit properly, but trust me, it's over. Not sure what happened with the no spend days. I have been posting a lot though. I suspect I have only had three so far, so that is probably right. Must do better with spending diary.

Also have not updated £5 a day yet either; I've lost a post office receipt or three so need to try and find it so I can deduct the expenses from the income. but on pure income alone, I was surprised to see that I've actually made £155, so technically I've made my challenge, not including postage & packing costs. I won't make it once I've deducted that, but makes me feel a little better!

Today has not been money spending at all, but i have had a thoroughly lovely day! I went into Norwich to run some errands, and there has been some lovely spending, the most bargainous of which has to be the lovely green spotty buttons I bought for 50p! No project for them yet, but I am definitely getting my button collection underway for future projects! Also spent rather a lot on yarn at my favourite yarn shop in norwich (ok, it's the only yarn shop in Norwich!), but almost all of it is for christmas projects, so faintly justifiable! Also had a lovely slice of pizza from the deli near St Andrews Church; proper pizza, in massive slices, reminded me of being back in America and buying pizza like that for lunch. Was yummy! I can't believe however that I managed to forgo cake for pizza, for they do amazing cakes too. Was a very close call. but I definitely needed the protein, and at least I can make my own scrummy cake, my pizza is not italian standard yet!

love the sound of green spotty buttons. is all the sort of spending i love best myself - saturdays mornings in charity shops, jumble sales and car boots is personal idea of heaven. is wonder how i got into debt in first place?

    hello bods!

Well, I've given up on the Shop Direct Training a few days in. Just heard too many bad things about Arise, and I didn't like all the pushy sales talked about in the training. I think catalogues are crap and I'd never buy from one, so something tells me I wouldn't be very good at sales for one lol - I'm only good at sales if I believe in the product! Plus it was too much work to do whilst working full time; doing the calls would have been easy, but 3 hours studying from 8-11pm and then having to do 3 hours homework somewhere before the next class when you work full time was impossible!

In other news, I've been offered a job! Well, mostly anyway! It's all a bit sudden and happened today. It's still the same place, but would be in Norwich, which means I could get the bus in, thereby saving £100 a month. The pay and hours are the same. The job itself doesn't sound exciting, but would be ok, and sometimes it's just all about the maths of the situation ;-). Plus I could read or knit on the bus which is something I really miss driving in to work. I'd be working with the person who interviewed me for the role I'm in at the moment, and he's offering it to me on the basis of things I've done in this job, which proves someone is paying attention! I think on balance, even though I'm still not going to earning what I need come January, I should stay put, and see what comes of it, because I'm definitely seeing that people who prove themselves and get themselves known are rewarded. Which is something that should happen in every organisation, but sadly this is the first time I've experienced it! Plus, I have to admit, I really like a lot of the people. In fact, other than the fact I don't have enough to do and some of what I do is really mundane, those are my only complaints, so a better fit for me job wise, and bobs yer uncle! Things have definitely improved over the last couple of weeks, partly this is down to me doing some things proactively and showing what I can do as a result.

Have updated my sig with new challenges! Aims for this month; going to get the rest of the CDs listed on Amazon, get music magpie-ing the ones that aren't sellable on Amazon, charity shop the remainder. Going to finally get ebaying the ebayable only goods as well. I've also been really crap about daily clicks, so going to try better on that, and also my spends diary which appears to have fallen by the way side! Hopefully I can manage not to go over budget on food this month as well!!

:j:j:j on the job offer. Sounds like a good move - and fab to me in a company that rewards hard work :D

Ooh, excellent news on that job! When do you start?

The only downside to working in the city is trying to stay away from the shops at lunchtime! Still, I assume you will be near the forum? So you can while away your hour reading free books in the library instead :D

  • Ahh to be in demand, you lucky thing!

I would personally choose the other job purely on the basis of not having to drive every day. I get such bad road rage it's silly. Leaving all that road rage to the bus driver while I read my book every morning sounds like bliss :)

Good luck with your new challenges xx

There's a slight chance I might get to go to court hearings, not for anything very exciting, but will keep me in touch with the bit I like of law ;-) Mostly I'm just really happy that I've been offered it by someone who thought of me, defintely very nice after thankless job applications!!

Hypno, I don't think it's that far from the Forum, no (I should really look up where the building is!)! my colleague who used to work at the same location said that she ended up spending her wages every week lol! I think the only danger for me is the very nice shoe shop I like that is slightly further up than the Tesco Express! I will miss a lot of the people at Wymondham though, so hopefully some of them will pop in from time to time. But yeah, finances-wise, it's a no brainer. I'll keep you informed anyway!

What I really came into say is that I've just come back from the post office to post off amazon sales; checked what I will get in my next disbursement - £40! Nice start to the month!
