Hi all long time no drop in BUT I have been focusing on our debts big time 2010 didn't start too well but it's been a real eye opening year in so many ways, lots of changes some good and some bad- however one last payment at the end of September on our nightmare of a secured loan to GE and then I am shot of them forever ! had this debt hanging round our neck for 7 years - never again !! Also paid off fenton cooper they settled a £1200 debt at £620 which I paid off last payment this month :) also brian carter paid settlement of £206 so they are also paid forever yay me :) - one thing I want to ask is regarding capital one - oh had a card we defaulted they passed onto DCA who then passed it back to cap 1 - we rang to find out what's going on and to perhaps offer a F & F but they said they have passed back onto a DCA -this was about 5 month ago and we have heard nothing off anyone - any advice what we should do? Thanks

Positive start to today :) just listed 17 books to sell on amazon and have literally tons more to list this week, hubby generously donated a tenner to me for petrol which is a tenner saved that I would have had to spend today, also got some odd bits of junk old gold together - not sure they will be worth much (if anything) but I intend to take them to town to weigh them in for the extra cash :)

Morning all decided to post for a catch up lol mainly for my benefit to remind me where I'm at, loads paid off this year but still wanna debt bust 5 of the smaller debts before we all welcome in 2011. Here they are:-

    1. Mum £280.00
    2. Capital One £480.00
    3. Other CCard £500.00
    4. Dad TV £136.50
    5. Very Catalogue £636.98

These total £2,033.48 or £677.83 per month x 3 months.

I am going to be paying Mum in full at the end of this month, I'm also selling a mobile which along with a payment of £50 should clear about £300 of the cap 1 card, I pay £80 to very per month also, this would leave owing £1373.48, which, dividedby the 3 months left thus year would equal £457.83 per month, hence my goal - to pay this amount each month off these debts aswell as all my normal monthly outgoings and other debt repayments. It's a tall order but I think I can do it. Wish me luck :)

sounds like you have a good plan there, even if it's a bit tight. It's good to challenge yourself and i'm sure you'll be able to achieve it.

Morning all just lied here contemplating things, finally had the long awaited letter from the secured loan company that we are paid up in full it's been a long 7 years with that company - never again would I get myself in such a long term secured loan commitment - however altough I know we are way more frugal than a few years ago I do still tend to waste money at times !! For example worked a double shift Thursday then blew £15 on takeaway which means I spent £15 of the £50 I'd just earned extra also went to the ice cream van last night £5 for 5 cornets !!!!! £20 thrown down the drain in a couple of days - I need to get more frugal big time.

On a plus note I now only owe my Mum £180 so that's £100 less and I anticipate with this and next months payment along with the sale of a phone my cap 1 cc of £480ish will also be paid on full by the end of November :)
