Hi eveyone, i was a frequent visitor to this site some time ago, been using again on and off of late as I am still in major need of help and support.
I have just calculated all of my debts, (over 10K of this to my Dad!!) and they stand at £50,928.68, now supposing everything stays the same or gets better at least 4 of these debts are due to end their term in 2010, totalling £4952.87.
That would leave debt at £45,975.81, I really hate myself for ever getting into debt BUT it happened, loads or reasons why, both being self employed, getting deeper into debt before realising we were sinking etc.
I really want to get this lot sorted, I have just turned 37 and would LOVE to make an extremley large dent in this before i reach 40 (if not pay it all off in full) that gives me a whole 36 months. Doing that calculation the silly way means i would need to throw at least £1,400.00 per month off my debts. I have kids etc and couldnt afford this but i'm sure i can try my best...
Any ideas, support suggestions or anythig would be great - is there anyone else with this much debt or in a similar situation to me?
xx:eek:

Thanks JD, even though me and hubby are both working there never seems enough money in to cover everything so im getting pretty good at juggling my debts and bills again, however like i say 4 of the debts are paid off next year (2010) and i dont 'need' anything for the house/car or anything so im going to focus all my attention on amking inroads into this debt. I do have kids so thats a hard marker when they need 'stuff' like kids do, and im saving for xmas already for them. It is getting me down again though some days which is why i decided to come back on here for help and supportFocusing on clearing the credit cards in 2018 :T0

Hi Dottyanne,
At lot of what you say sounds very "familiar " to me. I also have a massive amount of debt which I want to pay off by the time I am 50 (6 1/2 yrs ).
I will be reading your diary with interest.
Good luck

Hi dottyanne
Happy new diary ..... a few questions for you....
Do you have a figure you think you can throw at the debt a month?
Have you joined the debt free birthdays club?
Are you doing the Make £10 a day challenge and reading hypnos diary for ideas on money making?
Best of luck!Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Hi Savingholmes, most of these debts are on monthly repayments anyhow, apart from 1 x cc and 1 x catalogue where i pay as much as i can each month, im a bit rusty on a lot of the things going on around here but woull love to join in!
What does the debt free birthdays club entail? also the make £10 a day challenge - how does that work?
Me an OH both work fulltime, 3 teenagers at home (eat like 3 racehorses), to be honest i think we have tightened our belts so tight we cant breath but its still not enough some months, thats why i decided to come back on here, it was very supportive and helpful in my time of need a few years ago and altough things arent quite as grim as they were back then we still have mega loads of debt which needs addressing now! I hate the thought of being in so much debt and feel quite guilty that we are in such a position but i really want to aim to clear as much as possible by the time im 40 in 3 years time (my hubby reckons maybe another 2 years) giving it 3 or 5 years in total.

Now I know why you asked about the loan owed to my Mom;). A new SOA would probably help so that people can see if there is anything you have missed.
I am subscribing so will keep an eye on you :rotfl:

A new SOA would be a very good place to start! No cheating either.......:DSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
