  • I called NTL and asked what they could do to match TT.

Offered 2MB BB + TV Family Pack + Talk Unlimited 24 for £27 a month saving about £25 a month for 12 months!

    Telewest Result :)

Rang customerservices and selected disconnect option. Spoke to a nice guy and initially mentioned the 3 for £30 deal and why call features where so expensive. Been a customer for about 8 years now. Currently on phone, 4 meg broadband, and basic tv package.

Manged to get a 12month deal for £35. Was paying about £46. So £132 saved!! All done in about 10 minutes. Thanks Martin for the "Prod" :)

  • I have the top level Broadband package at £34.99/month. I just spoke to NTL and got 1 month free (saves £35), then 3 months half-price (saves £52.50) then an £8/month permanent reduction.

That's a total saving of about £150 over the next 12 months!

    I was paying £17.99 a month for 1MB broadband plus £11.99 for a telephone/TV package, so that's £30 a month total.

I phoned up, asked if they could match Talk Talk's price of £20.49 and they said yes straight away, saving me the best part of £9.50 a month or £114 a year.

I made the call in my lunch break while making a sarnie, didn't even have to go on hold for long and the woman was very nice!

I'm really happy with that - thank you!

I had my phoneline through BT, although I was paying for calls through a seperate cheaper provider, free evenings & weekends. I had 2 meg broadband with NTL, so I thought I would give them a try with the leaving to go to talk talk thing. At first they just offered me my 2 meg broadband 1/2 price for 3 months, but told me it was being upgraded to 4 meg as of 1st June anyway. I told them thats not really good enough to keep me. I then told them that if I moved to talk talk, I would have to move my phone line over too, so I said, "If I was to move my phone over to you (NTL), would you match the talk talk deal", as in pay for the line rental and talk unlimited 24 call package, and throw in the broadband free. To my surprise they agreed. This offer was going to cost me £25.00 per month. Remember I already had 2mb broadband costing £24.99 per month, without the phone package. Next I asked if they could upgrade me to 10mb broadband, as talk talk's is 8mb. Again, to my surprise they said yes. So I thought whilst I am on a roll, I asked if they could now cut the cost of this package to £21.00 per month, as talk talk's is £20.99. Totally amazed, they again said ok we can do that. So I now have a package that consists of free phone calls to 01/02 numbers 24/7, and 10 mb broadband for £21.00 per month, whereas before I was paying £24.99 for 2mb broadband, £11.00 per month line rental to BT, plus I was paying for any daytime calls. All in all, I'm saving around £20.00 per month.
If anyone is thinking of having a go at slicing their bills, then go for it, and push them as far as possible, you'll be amazed at what deals you can get. After all, they can only say no, and then you leave.

I recently got a TV Drive (Ok I got it the day they became available - Geek? Yup!).

It seems that people are having more success with NTL than Telewest. What I'm not sure about is if I've entered into a new contract with TW now that I've taken the TV Drive. If I have, is this only for TV, or will it encompass my phone and Broadband as well? Obviously the TT offer is only phone/broadband so I'm not expecting any TV discounts.

I've been with them 5 years overall.

Current modem is through the box (old box)
I think the samsung box will go up to 5 meg but above that you need a modem, and its free,as is the installation.

I chap said they would ring me later to arrange for the mosem to be dropped of and installed.

Have a look on there web site it tell you about installation

Can I just ask what modem you currently have? I think I might need mine upgraded too if I increase my speed.

Do you have to pay for installation?

How long do you have to wait for it?
