jha - yes, I haven't be 'around' on here much... been busy at work (had a bit of stress with a possible restructure but I think it's all going to be ok. Talk about timing! Am wondering if I will go early (am currently 36+3) but no sign on LO yet.
JAM - glad she got back in touch - was worried you hadn't heard after my recommendation. We're going to do a test inflate this weekend to see how big it is and what we might need to re-arrange to get the birthing area ready. We've bought a cheap PVC shower curtain and bath sheets from Wilco to cover the 3-seater sofa in case I need examining/stitching or need to get out. The pool came with a splash sheet to go under it so hopefully won't need anything else. Like you, am planning to start clothed (men's XL t-shirt) but then au naturel once I get in the pool. No point being shy then! DH is going to get in in his trunks!MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

EA - I had low blood pressure 'attacks' after each blood test so will need serious convincing to submit to any more!MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!

Fishcake you should probably talk to your MW about your concerns. I thin the results of some of the blood tests they do are quite useful to know (blood type etc to see if you need anti D injections)
Easy for me to say though as I have no problems with needles!
Hope you manage ok, whatever you decide to do0 -
Well i just don't know what to do now. tried the early pregnancy unit but they only take you on referral from the doctor and i tried calling to speak to one but reception refused to help and told me to phone tomorrow at the normal booking time. The EPU kept on about how people say they are ill for scans so i tried to make a deal that i will forfeit the scan for bloods and a physical exam unless of course these showed a need for a scan but she was having none of it. asked about drop in but she didn't know of any.
so unless i start bleeding or the pain gets worse i will need to hope i can get the doctor tomorrow to refer me to the EPU.[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j

Just quickly tring to catch up
Hello's to Jemima, Neertare, Nickynoo and Mummy2.
Congratulations to Suzy, Shelvis and Tigs on the arrival of your little ones.
Glam - thanks for adding me and apologies to those who were pushed further down the list (and didn't want to be!) Glad that you have your date sorted.
Nicki and workinmummy - great news that things are working out the way that you wanted them to.
jillie - Glad you are home and ok - take things easy x
32b - (hugs) hun I think Nickis advice is spot on - try and relax as much as you can - easier said than done x
Ok well my teeth have had some magic stuff put on them that has eased the sensitivity so I can eat without it bringing tears to my eyes! (my bio dad lost all his teeth in his early 30's so I am paranoid about them)
Picked up a couple of white "day" outfits for lo yesterday after appt then came home (although changing gear was a nightmare because of pulled muscle) I got really excited as I started coughing stuff (sorry!) up and was thinking that maybe this virus was working its way out of my system... then at 3am I coughed and one of my ribs "clicked" not sure if I have just pulled another muscle or cracked it. Hurts to take a deep breath and even worse if I need to cough but nothing that can be done so just need to hope that it gets better over the next few days and doesn't get any worse. On the plus side mum is here to look after the kids so I can "rest" tbh I am just getting frustraited I can see jobs all around me that need to be done - I just can't do them
Off to have a bath and see if that helps - hugs and best wishes to all x0 -
oh 32b i know how your feeling hun this is all to familiar. The EPU only do scans they don't do an exam, bp or bloods only if you are bleeding or they think you are having a mc to check your hcg levels. There really must be a drop in center some where even if it is miles away you would go wouoldn't you to put your mind at rest. When i was pg at xmas i felt really awful and hubby rang nhs direct they decided that i needed to be seen and had to drive to the nearest drop in center which is about 20 miles away at 3am they were expecting me because i rang nhs and went though straight the way. I had ecg's and bp done. The on call nurse decided i needed to go to A&E so had to go back the 20 miles to our hospital where i had bloods done was put on oxygen and had another ECG and bp. I hadn't had my booking in apt by then and it wasn't due until i was 12 wks.
Please Ring NHS direct it may just be good for you to talk to someone.

Hugs CB- hope your ribs feel better soon as sore ribs and a cough is no joke.
I can't believe I forgot to share this with you ladies- Sainsburys have Pampers Sensitive Wipes 9 packs for £5 which is a mega bargain (usually £2.49 a packet). I now have tons of wipes, but can't resist a bargain.
Got my anti-b's so hopefully that will see my UTI off. My hips are so flippin sore at the moment- not sure how I will put up with another 10 weeks of this. Am planning good old comfort food of a jacket potato with tons of grated cheese and coleslaw for tea to cheer me up, as I have a really long day at work tomorrow then am working Saturday too. Only 20 day left at work though!
I totally echo Elasti about NHS Direct. I have found them brilliant on a number of occasions, and they should let you talk to a nurse on the phone so you can describe your symptoms to her.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
Thanks elasti-girl may take your advice later if i get worse for now i will take a leaf out of ChasingButterflies book and have a bath, perhaps it will help me relax and ease some of the discomfort. Have decided to change doctors tomorrow all i keep thinking is what if i need to get an urgent appointment later in pg or if i take ill and they don't act.
Have found out where the MW's are going so i am going to change to a doctors close by.
ChasingButterflies hope you don't pull anything else must be so uncomfortable get well soon.
Welcome to any newbies that i missed when the red mist of rage descended:rotfl:[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j
