Afternoon All!
What a morning I have had! It isn't that bad really, but with my hormones it felt like a million times worse!
I made the chicken curry (at 8:45am!) Don't ask why, because I don't have an answer for that one! Which was fine and tastes delicious I might add!
Then I decided I would wash the moses basket covers and all bedding just in case... As I was attempting the remove the hood from the moses basket, the little plastic bolt that holds it on snapped!!! So that was it... Me in tears for nearly an hour!Oh dear, so had to get out of the house then!
Went to Mums who cheered me up and cooked me lunch (she's a good 'un!)
And now I'm back and ready to face some tidying I think!
How is everyone's day going?

jha- I totally understad where you are coming, as the girls know this wasnt a planned pregnancy for us and we found ourselves in a diffuclt situation but decided to go ahead and now 8 months down the line, I have only just started to bond with baby, but having suffered from depression a few years ago whilst hubby was working away for long periods of time abroad I really really hope I dont let myself get low again once the baby is here. At the minute I'm just carrying on as normal and also thinking /acting like the baby will just fit in with us, which I hope it does. I plan to go back to work early and am already thinking how will I lose this weight!!
Throughout this pregnancy touch wood I feel like I have had a great pregnancy as I am healthy and fit I feel this has helped, do you exercise eat well? I didnt suffer with actual sickness to begin with just tiredness which is creaping back in, I'm also really really forgetful now. I've found hating all my clothes one of the hardest things and also the bad back...Received £2,626.00 in PPI -2013:j

Good question jha, and so sorry to hear you're feeling this way.
I'm suffering at the moment too, been to GP and confessed, he asked some questions from a sheet and diagnosed me with 'severe' depression. He gave me some sertraline to take, which i did for a few days but it made me feel sick and unable to sleep so i didn't carry on although it does take 2 weeks for the side effects to settle down. They were surprised when i said i hated how they made me feel, and said most people don't get any side effects.
I'm currently on a waiting list for counselling in a bid to try and help, but in the meantime i feel like you do. Lonely, tired, unmotivated...
edited to say - i know it's not the same, as i'm not suffering physically at the moment, but just wanted to say you're not alone in feeling crappy!0 -

I think she used diposables overnight and in the first month or so whilst getting used to having a baby to look after and this is also my plan. Still need to work out the ins and outs for washing them etc, but as they are microfibre apparently they are better for use if you don't have a tumble dryer (I seem to remember reading that it is better not to tumble dry them - luckily as we don't have one!).
Even if we don't get on with them, I have seen used ones going for £10 on ebay and that wasn't the end of the auction!
thanks Lizzie! I didn't even realise you get them in mothercare and remembered the 10% prima voucher link elle posted a while back (http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=24341989&highlight=prima+baby) which makes them £12.30 each when getting a pack of 15. Just looked at the mothercare card and its 19.9% history tells me I am not best with credit cards so might just stick with the prima code! Think I'd need more than 15 though. Am also thinking of disposables for the first couple of weeks while I get used to being a mum! Are there any washable nappies that are especially good for night time use?0 -
Afternoon all..
Jenny I got a fantastic matress on offer from boots for £28 reduced from 60 and it is foam sprung as well, if you know the prev owner and trust them then should be fine.
Baby is moving loads today.. cant see my belly button anymore boo, still no stretch marks thank you mama mio!!
It was b-day yesterday not so much fun when preggs, stayed in with takeaway.. got money though which is great and pampering vouchers yeyy oh and two bunches of flowers delivered to work... 4 weeks 3 days left at work not that I'm counting.. Sleeping is a nightmare, no amount of pillows helps might brave the sofa tonight its huge and firm..
I'm losing my mind as well found my work keys in my car which is tiny after losing them for a week
I've read research about matresses but it's all very inconclusive, £30 wouldn't be too much to spend for piece of mind I suppose. Especially as Lizzie says everything else I've got has been cheap or free and I still have a bit of money left from what my mum gave me. Plus I don't really know the previous owner. By jove I think she's made a decision!
Happy Birthday for yesterday! It's my birthday on Thursday but I'd rather not bother however it's a big one so people want to make a fuss despite how many times I've told them not to.
I lost my keys yesterday as well, I'd left them in the car and had to go to work with the front door just on the catch, luckily OH was back from work before me otherwise I would have had to leave the door totally unlocked!Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Aw Jha, I hope you are just having a blue moment. Like Weezl I can see nothing wrong in your location.;)
Remember too, your hormones are all over the place. Take it from me, I know! And sometimes men just dont know how to respond. This I know too!!!
Honestly, it is hard if you have no family support - mine all live 200 miles away too, but once baby is born maybe you can befriend other mums at toddler groups or maybe Parentcraft classes?
Finally, maybe a trip to the GP would help? He/she will not laugh at you or dismiss you, I'm sure, and may be able to suggest coping strategies or a quick burst of anti-depressants? Have you talked to your husband? He may have no idea how you feel.
And keep posting here, of course!0 -
Big hugs Jha not sure what to say but big hugs to you baby and here if you need a chat or cry or whatever, we pregnant women must stick together I know it's not the same but had a bad Sunday myself was fed up with it all wanting to sleep all the and getting upset for no reason etc etc, then getting upset because i did not want to seem ungrateful for being pregnant.
Hmm i wonder about fitzio as well hopefully she may be holding her little darling as we talk.Darling son born 10/12/09 hopefully the 1st of many :j0 -
I agree with nanc on the exercise front - altho am not depressed I have found in the past that times I've felt down have been when I haven't been active. During the preg have become increasingly sedentary, after having been into all sorts of sports in 'normal life'... which hasn't helped. Exercise in the outdoors I've found particularly uplifting, even if only a walk (I've read it's the daylight that helps with depression/mood too). Getting into a routine of getting out of the house with bubs will be good, getting you both daylight, fresh air and exercise... start small and build up. Maybe get a pedometer so you can chart progress (I've got one of the DS Lite Walk with Me gizmos, might start using that again).
When I'm active I also tend to look after myself better in other ways (food, beauty etc) so it can become a virtuous circle...
For me the main thing is getting into good habits (or breaking out of bad ones). That's the hard thing.MFW Challenge member no. 96 - on hold!
