Am not so clever as kindof doing mega catch ups....
Xmas - congratulations! All these little boys, hope there a lot of girls between now and my bump arriving to even things out a little bit!
Bank holidays - everyone seems to be a little bit different, thanks for the update Glam but I honestly thought it came under the retaining your contractual benefits part of maternity leave legislation, for at least the first 26 weeks? I get, by my contract, 25 days annual leave + bank hols so while on maternity leave for a year I'll get 25 days plus the bank holidays I missed during maternity leave?? Has anyone got a link to something more comprehensive than directgov for example to use to send to my HR? Thats a brilliant point Nicki about putting leave at the end to benefit from any payrises - in theory I'll get one in January, the last few years they've been about 3%.
Hardly felt any wriggles today but think our little boy has just moved positions today and is kicking inwards as my bump shape looks different and I have bp check tomorrow and also a scan on Thursday so am putting paranoia to the back of my mind til the morning.
Only 31 more work days til I finish - I can't wait! Was thinking about going to the BabyShow at Earls Court which is on just before I go on leave (8 days leave before my maternity leave proper starts on Nov 3rd) - anyone else going?0 -
Always - Mil has booked tickets for baby show on the sunday. Have done the show as a trader the last few years and I think its fab, decided on the Sunday as there usualy a few more bargains to be had that dayBaby :female: Tahlie Lois born 15/3/10 7lb 12 oz :heartpulsWorking on baby no2

Evening everyone,
Nikki – Glad you are feeling much better about the birth and seem perkier.
GISI - I have ordered 2 nursing bras from Bravissimo as they didn’t have stock of my size (36J) sshhh!! I find Bravissimo really good as they don’t measure you with tape and just give you bras in that size, they look at what you are wearing and try different sizes for different brands etc, and when you are my size, there isn’t much choice. Anyway, I tried on a 36HH in the one I liked, and it was a good fit, but she recommended going up ½ a cup size to allow for milk coming in and for using breast pads. I tried on the 36J in another one which I didn’t like the style of, so have ordered the 36J in the first one I tried on. One white and one black. Due for delivery next week so probably in time for the birth. If they are a few days late, it doesn’t matter to me as I can’t really get them anywhere else anyway!
Gymfiend/Nikkit – I have been eating raw fish at Yo Sushi throughout my pregnancy. I knew about the advice re the fish being frozen first and asked the manager at Yo months ago. He said the only things not previously frozen were the salmon and tuna sashimi. I completely respect those who choose to follow all of the guidelines regarding what you should not eat etc, but you are recommended to avoid things as there is a small risk, not because it will definitely make you ill or harm your baby. I have avoided pate and liver etc which I think are higher risk in my opinion, but have eaten sushi and runny eggs. I think that it's important for everyone to read the information but to make their own informed judgements/decisions.
By the way, the Pumpkin Koroke is absolutely lush so make sure and try that if you haven’t already!! It’s my favourite (and its cooked veg so should be completely safe!) If you go tomorrow, enjoy!!
Also went to Mothercare today and bought a baby bath and a Grobag Egg. I wasn’t going to bother with the Egg as have read some reviews saying it’s not accurate, but as we have loads of vouchers, we decided would get it and try it.0 -
fitzio... i went to bravissimo for my nursing bras... also 36J... i got the royce Sadie one, well three of that style an i still have to make sure one goes in the wash tonight or i cant get dressed...

I have no idea what bra size i am now, i only have one bra that still fits and it's well worn lol.
In fact it's now an off-white colour, nice :rotfl:
I should really get measured but then i feel like i'm expected to buy an overpriced bra when i'd rather go bargain hunting when i know my size0 -
bravisimo are really good, my mum uses them all the time, everything she has had from them fits perfect.
Same with me, im a different size in every different shop (hate trying on bra's). My boobs just dont like some bra's as there realy un comfy but i have been spending my entire pregnancy wearing £4 primark sports bra's. They are the most comfiest bra i have ever worn. I even have them packed in my hospital bag in the next size for after the little one is born.
It will be really strange eventually going back to wearing normal bra's. DF cant wait though.
ETA: AWWW both babies are gorgeous and making me even more impatient. (please forgive me i am pants with remembering names):TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
