Kindof - are you sure your bank holidays get accrued? I work closely with our salaries dept and have never seen that happen. Your normal holidays should accrue but bank holidays don't seem to. Obviously differrent companies have different terms and conditions but it will be worth checking.

I am hoping to take a full year off although there is some issue with my holidays because our year runs 1/10-30/9 and I am planning to use 16 days before my due date 1/11 when I start ML but if I want to return 1/11/10 then to use my remaining 14 days I need to return to work in October as they will only let you carry 5 days past 1st October. Which I have to say is the daftest thing I have ever heard. I just want to take the 14 days in October and return to work 1/11 or just get them paid whilst I am in my period of no pay - is it to much to ask??!!

Of course Jr will probably arrive in October and there will be no problem whatsoever!

XL - Joseph is gorgeous - well done you :)

Yup I Def doo, it was brought in this year, my friend who came back in may this year has just been given 30 hours she was owed for Bank Holidays while she was off on M/L

That is crazy about your leave, we are normally only allowed to carry 10days over and my leave runs from Dec 1st to Nov 30th but in these circumstances the we are allowed to carry more

    xmas - Joseph is gorgeous!!!

Jennynoo - I get 30 days AL and I still get BH's accrued

Fitzio - good thinking :) I will only get newborn nappies in the event just in case :)

I was planning on doing breast and bottle, cos the TTCTN bottle are meant to be like breasts (as much as they can be lol) cos I really want OH to feed baby too

Yeah my mate told me I shouldnt express till after 4 weeks, but then I read other places you can do it straight away pretty much

    So much conflicting info lol

Workinmummy - lovely pics of Alex!

You girls are all definately producing some rather gorgeous babies :D I bet they're all taking after their mums :)
  • Alex is gorgeous WM! We're spoiled with all these baby pics today!

Meant to say welcome to Muso, too! Get yourself added to the EDD list then you can have the pleasure (and terror) of seeing yourself moving up it.

Just having some mango and raspberries for lunch. My bump is so sore today- right across the bottom. No idea why but it is making walking even more sore than usual.

    Hey Fitzio :)

I wondered about the mixed breast / bottle feeding too: really want to express as well so daddy can have a turn feeding bubs :D When I was at antenatal class a couple of weeks ago, I asked the midwife about this as she was recommending we express each day to build up a store etc. I had read on some sites not to try and bottle feed until after 6 weeks, and others said before: the midwife said we could just go ahead and start virtually straight away. :D

We're going to do this from the start - I express and dad gets the last feed of the day... there's a lot of conflicting info out there but I don't see any reason not to try from the start. If it doesn't work out that's fine but tbh I can see more issues with trying to introduce a bottle 6 weeks in than getting bubs used to both from the start. If you listened to everyone's advice and opinion you'd never do anything - I reckon go with what you want, but just be prepared to adapt if the baby isn't having it!

Girl Cub due 14th September :D
  • My due date is 16th May ( I think). How do I put myself on the list?

Went to doctors which was a non event - spent 30 secs with doc and was told to fill out form for midwife and to wait for a call! Is that normal?

I also had to choose between the two hospitals offered, but I don't have any experience of either so I just put the one thats marginally closer!

    Muso x
