ML, might be best to stop there LOL!! Get yourself some ice cream or ice pops, or try cold water on your pressure points.

Kindof - are you sure your bank holidays get accrued? I work closely with our salaries dept and have never seen that happen. Your normal holidays should accrue but bank holidays don't seem to. Obviously differrent companies have different terms and conditions but it will be worth checking.

    :)

My bank holidays accrue, Kindof, but best to check. HR should be able to give you a total for the holidays you accrue while on mat leave.

    Plan sounds good.

LOL, ml - pretty soon you will be getting into TMI territory :D.

How funny...since I 'formally' notified HR of my ML last week, they're now sending through all this stuff on H&S assessments and the like. Lovely and all, but a bit late! :p (also found out that our Deputy Chief Exec is pregnant, since she was on the e-mail too, lol...good way to get the company gossip!)

    Hey Fitzio :)

I wondered about the mixed breast / bottle feeding too: really want to express as well so daddy can have a turn feeding bubs :D When I was at antenatal class a couple of weeks ago, I asked the midwife about this as she was recommending we express each day to build up a store etc. I had read on some sites not to try and bottle feed until after 6 weeks, and others said before: the midwife said we could just go ahead and start virtually straight away. :D

Our breastfeeding MW says this was fine to express but to build up a store, as it last 6 months in the freezer, but not to do it till BF is established as it is easier for baby to get milk from a bottle and so they won't want to try so hard to feed from the breast.

  • so how long can it the milk be stored in fridge and how do you warm it up,lol sorry to sound thick,,,,
any tips or suggestions greatly recieved,,,,:D

good point: the midwife did mention this too. She said that as long as the milk was kept for no longer than 36 hours (I think?) from the first batch to be kept, it was just fine to add to it during the day :)

Maybe this is why they also suggest waiting till your supply is up and you can express the milk more easily. Just a suggestion, but I agree everyone must do what they think is best.

Oh we were told at breast feeding workshop last night to express after 10 days, and again store in freezer fridge serve at room temp, I reallly hope I can breastfeed looks quite calming and relaxing in a way..

I'm only just starting to get excited about baby think since our trip to Ikea helped really bringing nursery together got a huge green leaf canopy to put above cot and daisy lights for the wall, plus cleaning all the baby grows was cute need to crack on with bag now.
