Morning all, hope everyone is well and not getting too wet.
Was watching the news getting kids ready this morning and it was discussing hospital food. So it reminded me of when i have been in and i thought i'd advise you all if it's your first or a new hospital to find out how the meals are served.

I know it's not as important as pain releif in labor but if you don't eat how are you at your best for baby?

When i had DD i was moved around allot and each of the wards had a different way od serving meals. 1 ward the trays were put on the table at the end of bed on another it was a large heating trolley and you helped yourself. Got a rollocking on another as an auxiliary nurse was meant to serve you (whoops)They don't seem to tell you these things and you rely on seeing what others do, difficult with a new baby and a cesarean scar:mad:

Perhaps it is just the way they are up here lol

gisi - that really sucks not getting extra pay on a BH :( is it at least a shorter day?

Harley - if you find a good deal on sky let me know as OH wants to upgrade as we'll be staying in more now to save money. He also wants HD as his mum is giving us her HD TV next month as she wants a bigger one so yeay for that.

Fitzio - Could your OH not just have set an alarm for himself?

csh - how old is your dog? Mines 7 next week and still as mental as when he was 18months when were out walking, so much so everyone assumes he is a puppy lol

He always sets an alarm himself, but normally can sleep right through it! It was only because he had an important meeting and didn't want to sleep in. Obviously he managed not to keep pressing snooze this morning for a change though! We both work(ed) flexi time, so it's so tempting to press snooze and stay in bed! Neither of us are morning people ha ha, but I am learning!

I found mine invaluable for night feeds to save going downstairs in the middle of the night:D

Somnium, try out this thread: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1776641

Seems to be a bit hit and miss depending on who answers the phone but there does appear to be quite a few people getting a good deal on the HD. Not got a compatible TV unfortunately, that was one of the things I was going to get this year before Bubs decided she wanted all my money instead

Maybe EA will be able to offer some advice when she comes in. Thanks Csh.

Don't worry you develope new ways of giving them attention. My mum had a dog when i was born and she would involve the dog in looking after me. She would ask her to watch me etc and she started to get mum if i stirred in my cot and slept outside my door. She had a toy that the dog only got when she was looking after me ie feeding changing, the dog would get all happy when mum would say baby needs a nappy change lol

When i had DS i had a cat (lived at parents because i moved to a flat) when i was at mt parents he would sleep in the basket under the pram(nearly took him home a few times lol) and he meowed when she woke up. One time when she was about 6 mths she was asleep upstairs and was sick and we didn't hear her and she was choking i swear if it was not for the cat she could have choked, he was literally clawing my legs when i passed the stairs without going up.

    I love my animals :T:T:T

Glam can you get away with (if you have any) a bit of nesquick in the milk of your breaky? That's how I trick Chris when he is being a PITA wanting naughty cereal :D
