Thanks Jenny, its just a bit uncomfy, like wearing too tight trousers but over all of my tummy. Keep waking up OH too in th enight as I toss and turn a bit.

Hopefully one day I'll actually know something and be able to help some one on here, I just seem to ask questions at the minute, you guys are all great and have really helped me through so far.

Think I;m going to retire to watch some michael palin with oh, he's playing death metal now to try and hurry me up!

    Hugs to Princess and JHA.

On buying stuff, we didn’t buy anything until after 12 week scan. Then bought a couple of little things, but still felt it was a bit early (felt like a bit of a fraud walking round M&P with no bump!). Ended up buying nearly everything around the 20-24 week mark as Mothercare had a good sale on and we bought more than intended! If you feel ready to buy stuff go for it. Better than leaving it too late when you are massive and can’t be bothered!

Kind of – glad your scan went well. Lovely pics!

Gymfiend – bf was one of the first things my mw mentioned to me too at booking appt. I think they are told to push it to everyone, although there is a lot of debate about the fact that no-one is being educated in formula so I think it will change in the future.
I am definitely going to try it as it is meant to be better for baby, and it is cheaper too, but like everyone else, if it doesn’t work out, I am not going to worry about it. I have a couple of small cartons of readymade formula in the cupboard. I would like to be able to express, or even mix and match so that OH can take a turn at feeding the baby too. I would not worry too much about switching to bottles too early if you go back to work as plenty of babies get used to it. Take your time to decide as it’s early days, and just do what’s right for you.

SJ – lovely bump picture! I can’t remember being that size it was so long ago!

See that's why I'm glad I don't have internet access at work- I would spend a fortune online to cheer myself up!

Just done my list of what I still need to buy and it's re-assuringly short! I still need:

    Maternity pads
    Nipple cream
    Monitor
Baby bath (we have a spa bath so don't really want to use that)
    Towels
    Emergency formula cartons
    Sling
Changing mat that actually fits our changing table
    Black out blind
    Moses basket mattress

That's it! Also want to get a few more clothes but nothing major really. Shows what a good shopper I have been so far and I'm glad as I've got to the can't be arsed stage now and it's online shopping or nowt!

Just spoke to my Mum who was moaning she is cold and sat wearing a jumper with all the windows shut. I told her I am sat sweltering in a vest and shorts (only about 10 miles away).

Has anyone got any tips for not rolling onto your tum in th enight? I am trying to use a normal pillow as a barrier but end up with it on the floor and laying on my tum and waking up feeling a bit bruised, can't wait til I am too bbig to roll over as I am not quite there yet, but its uncomfortable if I do. Lidl don't have any pillows near me as all sold out, a friend has recommended the v shape pillows, so not sure if that would dbe worth a try

As Jenny said, I don't think it's that much of a big deal if you end up lying on your tummy. I still sleep on my side, rolling slightly on to my tummy. Physio said it wasn't that important to sleep on your left side like you read everywhere. It's more important to find what's comfortable for you! You could try a cushion or a normal pillow to jam into your side, but I found that just annoyed me when I was smaller.

That's great GISI. I know what you mean about can't be bothered. I still need the following:

Nipple cream & Nursing bras for me
    Mobile for cot (not essential)
    Baby bath
Sheets for the cot (although got all bedding for the moses basket)
    Blackout blinds
Breast pump (will wait until after the birth to see if I want/need one)
Blinds for the car (not that there is much sun around here)

There are other things like travel cot, highchair etc, but nothing that is essential early on. I just hope we have enough nappies and stuff.
Was it you SJ who said you had 100+ in Size 1? Do babies stay in Size 1 for long enough to use that many (I really have no clue!)?

I was meant to go to shops today but had a bowl of soup before I left and was totally uncomfortable and getting lots of movement down below. Baby must be trying to engage, and I didn't fancy sitting in the car.

Ended up staying in and washing more baby clothes. I think I might have shrunk all of the baby socks - but I don't know how tiny they were to start with!!!

Then I got that pain across my ribs/bump again which again was excruciating and lasted about 15 mins. Had to make myself sick again. Didn't notice any heartburn today either so not sure if that's what is causing it! It's very sore and very frustrating.
  • I probably have about 100 size 1 nappies too. I've bought them everytime I've been sent a voucher. I'm hoping that they will get used, if not I've heard that Asda will exchange for another size without a receipt. I think at that stage you change them every couple of hours so 100 won't actually last that long.

I hadn't really thought about a travel cot, but I guess that would be useful. Hopefully Mum or MIL will get one as it would mostly be used when staying with them anyway.

I think I have about 50+ size 1s and maybe the same in size 2s. I do still have vouchers to use mind you so will probably end up with more. Just not sure which size to buy. If I wasn't so lazy I would get off my backside and go and look to see what weight they go up to!! Will buy more, but no rush. It will give OH something to do when he is on PL!

Yeah, how funny, about the bidding against eachother-I thought that earlier, I was browsing baby things and came accross some tens machine replacement pads and immediately thought of Glam as she had posted earlier saying she needed some but they were out of stock online..there was 1 min left on the auction so not enough time to tell her about them so I thought of bidding and trying to win them for her but then decided not to incase she was actually bidding on them herself anyway!

    Aw thanks :o
If they went for £6 odd then it was me bidding but I didn't get them!

Thanks CB that's great - I'm goin to collect moses basket on Tuesday but might pop in on the weekend and ask.

If not, there are some on eBay that apparently fit most TENS machines including the Boots one - have just emailed the seller to double check. They seem to sell tons of them and they are only £4 I think.

I used to lie on my side but sort of on my tummy as well IYSWIM but once bump gets bigger you can't!!!

    SJ - nice bump pic!
I was thinking of getting a few of mine at different stages and posting them to see how much I progressed - might do it tomorrow.

I won a bundle of sleepsuits on eBay earlier £5 for 11 qhich works out at 40p each! OH had a moan that I could have got them on car boot but I can't be bothered to go again!

It is absolutely lashing it down here - I can't believe it!!!

Baby is soooooooooooo active today, don't think all the exercises and stuff they had us doing today has helped. Keep feeling pains in my foof like bubs is punching me there!!!
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
