Gisi, while your around..your at the same stage as me..have you been having any period like cramps low down lately? Just wondering cos I have had alot and it gets worse when I gently push down at the top of my bump, like over my ribs! Ive been told (not by a midwife) that the acheing is probably baby moving down abit more, his head snuggling into my pelvis.

Umm, not really had any recently. Not wishing to worry you or offer medical advice but when I did have period like cramps (about three weeks ago) it turned out I had a UTI. I also had a temperature though, so prob not what you have unless you feel unwell. Are you seeing MW soon? Could you ask her?

Could well be baby moving down in your case though as it isn't your first.....or did I imagine that this can happen earlier in subsequent pregnancies?

my tens machine arrived this morning :j

but the pads are out of stock on the Boots website!!! Hope they do them in store :o

Glam on the booklet there is the instore code (as well as the online one) I would try phoning a store and asking - I have a funny feeling it is the sort of thing they hide behind the counter at the pharmacy... or at least they used to.

If you can't find the code let me know and I will have a quick look.

eta store code is 11-80-827 It says that they can be ordered from any store but tbh I would call ahead and check x

Hugs and best wishes to all - about to be swamped by family over the next few days dd3 is doing well and her big brother and sisters are amazing with her - lol there is no poking of the eyes etc because they are old enough to know not to! much more relaxing for me!

xmas - not sure if it was a coincidence or not but I had a couple of huge glasses of pineapple and lime juice the night I started with the irregular contractions - I was just thirsy wasn't really thinking about what I was having *lol*

gymfiend - you do what is right for you and your baby. My stoopid midwife was lecturing me on bf during my booking in appointment whilst i had early preg bleeding and was just trying to get through the appt- everything is ok but at the time i didnt know it - they are very insensitive sometimes. Me and oh have got all the bottles / steriliser in ready and have researched what baby milk we would like to use just incase there is a prob - or i wish to express / formula feed.

    Nice bump SJ

I know there are a lot of pro's to breastfeeding, just feel so uncertain, like my life's been turned upside down as I'd a/ not really expected to get pregnant (because of said tumour) and b/ not really expected to lose my contract at such a bad moment! Will think on it, maybe I'm taking what the midwife said to heart too much...

On a brighter note - how gorgeous is this - trying very hard to justify buying it :o

    Thank you :D

That is so nice! Luckily for me there's no way on earth I could justify £40 for it!!

I feel fine apart from that,no temp or anything so I don't think it's an UTI. Yes I think babies can engage earlier after your 1st pregnancy, but I think I'm abit too early for that to be starting yet?! I'll ask midwife at next appointment but I don't see her again till 34weeks! I haven't seen her since 28weeks..after you have had your 1st they don't care about you no more!
love my little man he is amazing :j
  • That's cos I got them all today :D

I did think that actually, that we are probably bidding against each other!

Just won these . So cute!!!

Also, you shouldn't avoid Blooming Marvellous- the prices are fab. I got a couple of maternity T-shirts for £2 each. They'll prob go for that on eBay once I'm done with them. I also got a swimsuit for £5 which will definitely go for more.

Helen- I've only seen the MW at 8, 16, 22 and 30 weeks so not very often even though it's my first!

only me again, hope all are OK?

Had my appt tody at hospital re heart and size and I've been given the all clear on both fronts, also heard the heartbeat again, so thats twice in 10 days!

However, have found out the reason I have a UTI is my GP has not prescribed me strong enough antibiotics so it just hasn't gone away, apparently you need twice as much when u r pg (500mg).

Also when the nurse took my bp the machine squeezed my arm so much it burst some blood vessels in my arm, not loads but looks lke a tiny hickie

Al in all feeling much better today, and felt even better after having steak pie for tea, mmmmmmmm was so goooood

Has anyone got any tips for not rolling onto your tum in th enight? I am trying to use a normal pillow as a barrier but end up with it on the floor and laying on my tum and waking up feeling a bit bruised, can't wait til I am too bbig to roll over as I am not quite there yet, but its uncomfortable if I do. Lidl don't have any pillows near me as all sold out, a friend has recommended the v shape pillows, so not sure if that would dbe worth a try

Helen- so sorry about your friend, that must be so tough, and good about ur dad, at least that is one less stress

    Hope eveyrone else is ok

Sorry about the typing I think i'm more tired then i realisd!

I think I was actually wrong..I think babies of 2nd,3rd ect pregnancies tend to engage later, not earlier, sometimes not untill labour has started!

I don't understand why they try to make you decide so early on! They shouldn't put pressure on you. You really don't need to think about it now so I would advise forgetting about it for now and concentrating on having a happy pregnancy :)

That snuggle thing is soo cute! Would be really good during a cold winter but £40 is way too much!

Yeah, how funny, about the bidding against eachother-I thought that earlier, I was browsing baby things and came accross some tens machine replacement pads and immediately thought of Glam as she had posted earlier saying she needed some but they were out of stock online..there was 1 min left on the auction so not enough time to tell her about them so I thought of bidding and trying to win them for her but then decided not to incase she was actually bidding on them herself anyway!
