Hey all, sorry re M&S i normally get some good bargains on there x

Trying to get sense from work re maternity pay.. all i wanted to know was what my monthly break-down would be for the months I am off.. they have agreed to pay me my holiday pay in Sept in one lump which is great, but are saying all of 6 weeeks @ 90% will be paid in one lump as well in October, and the other months will be at my SMP, but wont i only get 2 weeks pay then for November, how is everyone else getting theirs, I know some get more than the SMP, but any experiences would be fab x

Princess, there are a few people planning for a home birth. Mountainlioness, Xmaslolly, Chasing Butterflies and a few others (sorry, names have escaped me!). Some of the ladies on the Parent thread had home births recently, so you could ask there for advice.

SJ - are you feeling better this evening?

Thanks Fitzio, yes I was. Logged off just before your post!

Think it must have been an allergy to something although when I woke up today I had a bit of dia woo woo :(

Not sure if it's related but feel ok today so can't really complain.

I'm back from the Doc's and I have SPD . Nice! Haven't got signed off as decided to wait till I see MW tomorrow. Dr really crunched me about though and I was so sore when I left! Had to walk there and back too as OH has the car- I must have looked a right muppet waddling along!
Just be creful if you get signd off for any length of time as I think you can be forced to start your maternity leave early. Not good if you want to spend as much time as poss with bubs after. I know it's easier said than done, I had SPD. Luckily (or not so luckily) my waters broke 4 weeks early and I've had no trouble since.

I'm just getting mine paid as I would normally pay- ie. Holiday pay for weeks one and two, full pay for next six weeks, then 33 weeks at SMP. I get paid fortnightly anyway, so will just get two weeks at a time at the appropriate rate. Wonder why yours is done in lump sums? Seems a bit strange and you'll need to make sure that it is taxed correctly.

I thought they couldn't make you start ML until four weeks before EDD....might be wrong on that though . Does anyone know?

Congratulations Chasing Butterflies! Sounds like you had a great experience. I'm looking to have a HB so look forward to your birth story and pics of course :)

Kindof and EA wow not long til your scans! I loved my 12 (13) week scan! Even though I'd had 2 early scans it was so so good to see a real baby shaped thing in there!!

Xmas lovely bump! Doesn't look square to me either.

There's a lady at my work who is due in November so who is 3 months ahead of me, and her bump is the same size as mine!!! Not sure if I'm big or she's small or if it's a bit of both!
