OH wants me to take the full year but think thats pushing it, aiming for 6 months atm. Whats everyone elses plans?

Morning, currently on ML at the moment and taking the 39wks, was originally going to take the full year, but it would appear that I might not get my same job back after that!
Don't want to get punted somewhere else, so taking the 9mths and going back part time (12k pay drop tho ) HTH

Somnium - I have 4 weeks annual leave and then planning to take 9 months maternity leave. I would take the full year, but not sure we can afford it as the last 3 months would be unpaid. So the current plan is 9 months (although with A/L and Public Hols it probably works out nearer 11 months), but you don't have to decide up front.
Our HR dept assume that I am taking the 12 months entitlement, and if I return before that I have to give them 8 weeks notice.
  • :hello:morning all, hope everyone is well this morning. Congrats to cb.

Hi Beenie, I noticed while reading through that you'd posted on the thread about kids ear piercings, as I've mentioned a subject that really riles me so had to read it (and post lol).

I've got the health visitor coming over today to explain what she does once the baby is here-does everywhere do this? Gonna have to do some tidying this morning methinks :o

Just need to occupy my 5yr old so I can get it done!

Got my birth plan pretty much sorted...except for the rather important who's going to look after dd.....only moved a few months ago and the only close friends I've currently made are due around the same time! Think I might have to see if I can impose on one of the mums from dd yr at school  (brain has been refusing to think about it in a 'sure it will all just work out' avoidance tactic :o not good!)

suitable vibes to all in need (brain is now so jellified I seem incapable of remembering ANYTHING I haven't written down, and discovered last wk I can no longer give directions as my brain has now muddled up left and right! lol )

I'm just off now to see the psych but you should have a google and find the stats before you decide. My DS was a footling breach and I had a planned c section with him. We were told if I went into labour naturally to get to the hospital immediately, through red lights if necessary, as the consequences of the cord getting compressed were so serious. There's another mum who used to post on here who also had a footling breach, and was in hospital for observation due to placenta problems, and she also was strongly advised to have a section, due to the high risks. Can't now remember who that was but if you search the last thread or the one before you should find her birth story.

I think it was Jvic ;)

ETa - She had her baby at the beginning of June, so her posts may be a few pregnancy clubs back :)
I just saw this post from ages ago. It was me that had a footling breech. All turned out Ok but they wouldn't really let me go home as going into labour would have been dangerous. As it turned out, when I did go into labour, they didn't believe me anyway as nothing showed up on the machine thingy (can't remember what it's called) as they were putting the pads in the wrong place (don't you just love the NHS :))

Mine didn't. I didn't see her until after Tomos arrived. I think they're short staffed around here though.

    ^^^^What she said!^^^^^^

    I cannot wait to start.

I made the silly mistake of reading through to catch up, then going for a shower before posting so I've forgotten what i was going to say.

    Welcome to Newbies!

Well done on all the Freecycle hauls. I'm going to start paying more attention to it when I'm on ML as at least I'll be able to collect any time then.

Off to docs in a minute. My hips are really sore today after not being so bad yesterday so glad I kept the apt. Then have anti-D at the hospital this afternoon so it's a fun day all round really!
