    Hi everyone,

Please can i join your lovely thread???

Only just found out I'm pregnant (around 5 weeks) and even though we'd been trying for long long time it is still a bit of a shock!!!

    Kxx

    hello kitty and princess

Well, today I have picked up a load of boys clothes off frecycle for me AND a load of girls clothes for my sister (she has even thrown in breast pads and a baby name book) - I think with freecycle you have to be quick off the mark to reply straightaway and also be available to pick things up almost immediately.

    Parentcraft was AMAZING :j:j

Different MW and we did hospital tour - it was so quiet which was weird.
The delivery suite rooms were HUGE and very nice - they have loads of gym balls and the birthing pool (more like a big bath) looked fab and I am so gutted I can't use it!
We can have side room for £55 but she did say if it was busy on wards and if we were really nice we might end up in there anyway!!

At the end we sat in the ante-natal clinic waiting room in a big circle and asked loads of questions and then she wanted us all to introduce ourselves and then said did we want to exchange numbers at the end. A few girls seemed up for it so at the end the boys went outside to talk about footy and 4 of us got together, exchanged numbers and said that as most of us were going to Physio session on Thursday we would tried and all go and meet up for lunch beforehand. I've got everyone's numbers so will co-ordinate it - oh I'm so excited :j

Think OH has been spurned on as there is another couple due the same day and the guy was saying how he was going to do the car seats tomorrow and had everything else done (bearing in mind they have 4 weeks and I have 2!!!!)

Went to Tesco then and now have a lovely curry in the oven and a chesscake for pudding. A bit late but who cares :D

Oh and MW said you shouldn't start RLT until 39 weeks as it induces labour - OH went mad and said 'She's on 3 cups a day!!'
I said that I had researched it and it doesn't induce labour and is safe to drink more than 1 cup - I also said I'd been drinking it for the last 3 weeks and the MW soon stopped talking about it!

All in all a good night so I'm off to find something good to watch on the TV.

    Doing nursery tomorrow!!! :j:j:j
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Where does the time go?

    Welcome kittyminx!

I've had a lovely evening at my mum and dad's but they wouldn't let me walk home on my own cos it was dark! I appreciate their concern but it's a 5 minute walk that I have done so, so many times! I joked that I played out later than this when I was 12 but my mum made my dad walk me home anyway. Funny.

I'm tired now though! Need an early night I think, although not that early I guess when I'll be up by about 6.30. Had today off work but back in tomorrow :(

Glamazon i drank RLT with both of my other two from 36 weeks one was a week late the other was 2 weeks late so i wouldnt worry about that :rotfl:

Well done with your freecycle bits :j:j:j:j

I meant to ask is anyone planning on having a home birth? I have decided that i want one, i seriously despise the local hospital and the midwife doesnt think i would make it into hospital anyway (labour with my youngest was 8 minutes  ) at my last appointment she said she was going to have a look through my notes and see if there was any medical reason why i shouldnt have one and if there was she would call me straight away so that i could rethink my birthing plan, that was 3 weeks ago so im guessing everything is ok :j im now just panicking about it a bit not sure what i will need at home etc :rotfl: baby is due on xmas day so i want to get as prepared as possible now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Princess, there are a few people planning for a home birth. Mountainlioness, Xmaslolly, Chasing Butterflies and a few others (sorry, names have escaped me!). Some of the ladies on the Parent thread had home births recently, so you could ask there for advice.

SJ - are you feeling better this evening?

Glam/Nanc - glad you enjoyed Parentcraft. Session 2 is tomorrow night for us. It just shows that it can be a different experience for everyone, and also depends on who takes the class.

DH has gone to bed (he never goes to bed this early!) as he has had a headache all day and is on a training course this week. Don't think I helped with my crying and being sick earlier mind you. Going to go to bed myself soon.
Tomorrow I have to take DH's car for a service. My mum will probably have to drive me to the garage so I can leave his car there, so might mean spending the day with my mum! Wish me luck!!!! Might be back on in the morning for some encouragement before I go!

    Night x
  • Hi Kitty and Princess - I'm fairly new on here too, I've so far had a baby bouncer and 3 bags of reusable nappies from freecycle - they are for age 1+ but I don't see the harm in being prepared. i've struggled to get things from freecycle in the past - but I've started giving my home number and a short reason why I want/need things and that seems to be helping. They have also introduced a fair offer policy - if you sign up to it you give people about 3 days to respond and then either pick the one you like or pick out of a hat. I imagine the further down south you are and nearer an affluent area the better the stuff you will get from it, a bit like jumble sales, carboots and charity shops!

I'm off to oxford near christmas - i'm asking my aunty to keep a look out for car boots and me and OH will do the charity shops - you always get better stuff down there.

I had a HB in June :D all you really need is THESE and a some drugs on prescription - I went for Meptid but it's not available in all PCTs

ETA: if you go that quick again there'll be no time for the drugs lol

  • Hey there,

Popped on last night to catch up with everyones news wrote out a huge reply (one handed) and the post eating monster had it for a snack *lol* I gave up - so please accept a hug/biccie/labour vibe/sticky bean vibe/congratulations/hello as required :D

Although the weekend didn't go quite to plan we managed to get the cot up, collect the pram, figure out how to work the car seat :rotfl: although she did arrive before we got any of it done :j

Home birth was brilliant - dd is amazing - just getting used to her being here - I was so sure we would go past edd but she had other plans! She arrived at 2.14pm on Saturday 22nd August and weighed in at 6lb.

Need to go get everything ready for the big kids going back to school tomorrow... lol still don't have an anniversary card for dh - think I might be forgiven though!

xmas - hope you manage to sort out the pool and ness plan lots of things to do over the next few days ;)

A huge thank you to everyone who offered info/advice on hb you are all stars x

    :D a little bit achey - but still :D
