I went to the classes offered by the midwife but they were free. They are quite usefull for your first one but i havent bothered with this one i was wondering weather to go though as its my OH first child but he has seemed quite happy just grilling me about what happens.
He has just had his summons come through for his speeding offence he is in court on the 03/09 thats great timing im due on the 10/09 and his family are all away on holiday that week so its just me and him. I havent let on to him but im worried sick about the whole thing he is still kicking himself for being so stupid. :-(:jFriends are like fabric you can never have enough:j0 -

Suzy - gigantic labour vibes to you. I hope you get the home birth, and that it's as easy and painless as they can make it. Boo hiss and no cookies to the mean nurse.
Catw0man - so very sorry to hear your news. Fingers crossed for third time lucky and hope you're back here very soon.
Helen - I think it's time for you to speak to your dad and let him know it's not possible for him to stay with you as much as he is planning. Some people are just unbelievably self-absorbed. One of Husband's friends called on Thursday to ask whether he was here or at work. With screaming infant in the background, I explained that he was at work, had a morning-long meeting but would be home at X time and could Friend call the mobile so she didn't wake the baby in future? She went on a long inane explanation of needing Husband to fix her computer asap, all the while I'm telling her that I need her to get off my damned phone so I can pick up the baby she woke... and there is no way her computer is more important than our newborn. And she called back later on. On the landline. And woke the baby.
EA- The guy from Twilight is very cute indeed. But he must be about 20, and if the rumours are to be believed he's a bit of a soap dodger. I don't object to manly odours when attached to someone so cute, but that's because I'm one of those no-deo crunchy types myselfI do shower at least once a day though...
Beenie - big hugs. It's so hard when people who should know better don't. Vent away whenever you need it.
Glam - I would exchange the gifts asap in case they drop in value. Even a gift card is a good thing.I remember changing a girls nappy once, can't even remember who, but i was so paranoid about the poo going into her front 'folds'Just seems so much harder to me
It freaks me out, all those little folds. I'm glad it's calming down a bit in Mollyfrog's undercarriage - right after birth her bits were massively swollen and it was really disturbing to change her.I don't think so, I had a bit of a mad moment on Wed night going through my present stash and sorting out 11 christmas and birthday presents, I only need to get another 3 people (all men) and I'm done. Did contemplate wrapping them up, but drew the line at that. I think I was trying to avoid the hoovering though so that may be why I was doing such random things!
Mine's not wrapped yet but the shopping's all done. I purposefully left the wrapping so I can sit in the attic at my parents' and wrap everything in one long go, complete with a glass of wine and a [STRIKE]packet of[/STRIKE] mince pie[STRIKE]s[/STRIKE].
Catching up as best I can while the monster sleeps... she won't do it at night, but from 10-1 she's predictably flat out. Long update follows because I've nobody to talk to at home except Mollyfrog and although she's very smart and cute she's hardly a good person to have a chat with .
The midwife came yesterday and woke her at midday though so she was a tiny little crankypants all day. And she puked properly for the first time (all over the bed) then flailed in it so I'd know she wasn't rejecting my gift of milk but just didn't have room for it in her tummy.
More pictures will turn up today on Facebook, but they're filtered so my patients don't come across them while snooping - if you want to see them friend me and leave me a note letting me know who you are
Oh, the child is less than two weeks old. She flipped herself from back to front two days ago, is demonstrably growing front teeth, and grabbed a toy from her crib as Daddy was lifting her out of it, then steadied it with the other hand. We're petrified that we have some sort of child prodigy.
My family left today. They booked their flights so they'd be here when the monster was a few weeks old, but because she went over we were only home from the hospital a day when they turned up. It was nice to see them but I'm so relieved they've gone. And my brother (20 y/o), who has problems with insecurity, was insanely jealous of the attention Mollyfrog was getting.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Wow, Sugar u have a child genius! Thats amazing, glad u have some peace and quiet now.
I love wrapping presents so am hoping to make a good night out of doing it to (how sad am I sounding!?!?!), I just love putting on the ribbons and stuff, and I'm guessing once the baby is here and getting a bit older it'll just be a mad dash to get them done and hidden away.
I'm not very artistic usually but presents are my forte! OH usually present gifts in a carrier bag if he can't pursuade his mum to wrap them so I guess thats why I like the fancy stuff so much!Boots: £107.xx on AC :j

What happens at all these maternity classes. I know i'm on baby #3 but believe it or not i have never been to any classes. Think that may be where a bit of my dislike for the MW's comes from.
Baby 1 MW forgot to add me to the list for the classes and then i had an emergency c/s never even heard anything about them.
Baby 2 I was put on the waiting list but was told that because it was my second baby priority would be given to FTM's got a letter a month after he was born asking if i would still like a place on the next course.
So i have no idea what goes on at them except some take you round the hospital the rest is what i have seen on TV how sad :rotfl:[STRIKE]Little bump 3 on it's way[/STRIKE]:j

Have requested the opportunity to snoop myselflove to see pics as she grows, she's a little cracker.
Glad you are back to just your little branch of the family now. I'm really starting to worry how I will cope with all the visitors I'm likely to get. I am pretty anti-social most of the time and just like to spend my time with a select few. Thankfully my new blinds are in now so if I feel the need I can just close them up and ignore any knocks at the door. I just know that a lot of my extended family don't have the social skills to know when they have outstayed their welcome so I will have to be pretty blunt in telling them that I need to sleep/feed/eat, whatever.
Having my hair done later as a quick pick-me-up, ready for all the photos that I just know are going to be taken. I'm not photogenic at the best of times, so I know that just after the birth I will be looking pretty horendous - just as everyone is shoving a camera in my face. The least I can do is cover a few greys:o
Hope you are all well
