Beacon Mortgage Advice! Help!

Our broker was crap and we refuse to pay them.
Our solicitor was rubbish
You may end up with adverse credit if you refuse to pay a broker if you draw down the mortgage.
Solicitors and brokers always get it in the neck, but you should recognise that you don't pay them the extra required to sort out the plethora of issues when dealing with Beacon, and in reality there is little these parties can do as the outstanding info is usualy the responsibility of the seller / applicant.
In your own job would you do a lot of extra work that is'nt really part of your remit, in return for no extra money?0 -

Yes I would, customer service and reputation is extremely important and by word of mouth you get invaluble business. It does not stipulate in the set fees that if you choose a particular mortgage company the service you require will be second rate. When setting the "set" fees, you should take into consideration there will inevitably be some cases where you have to go above and beyond the realms of expectation, in any profession. I was lucky with my broker, he was excellent but you have to understand that although you may be an excellent broker yourself, there are terrible ones out there like in any profession. However I did have a less than competant solicitor and I did expect them to go that extra mile if that is what it took to get my file complete and the money in their pocket (no sale no fee). Needless to say because they didn't, I shall not be recommending them.0 -
@ Sue, that's good news hun! They do revaluate really quickley, that would be excellent if we were both moved in by the end of the week

We didn't ask them to do extra work just what they were suppose to!
We argued our case to them and have told them to take us to court if they wish. However they have declined to and not invoiced us for their fee.0 -

One week ago I was posting a mess to say that after many many weekssss and many many problemsssssss we were about to complete and we did.
What said jay007uk is exactly true, I had the chance to have an excellent Broker...
Remember that even if it seems to be unfair and bad luck coming back more and more..once you have the key you tend to forget and forgive...
Merry christmas to everyone...0 -
