Broker dave if you dont believe in consumer rights why are you posting...

But you don't have the right to a new cooker all because there's a fault with your 3 year old cooker.

Im not asking for a new cooker , just a free repair .

If they want to give me a new cooker i wouldnt refuse , but i am really not expecting that .
A cooker of the same age and condition ( bar the fault) Yes ..

    HTH clarify

What was the warranty on the cooker? is it one year?

I am sorry, but if it is outside of warranty then I don;t see how you can have a legal claim for free repairs?

I suppose jumping up and down and writing letters is all well and good - but realistically I just cannot see how it would make good business sense to the retailer or the manufacturer to carry it out on your behalf? and I don't see it as a SOGA issue after all this time

I reckon even a judge would take a dim view of this in court.

Fine, believe them then and go to court. good luck and keep us informed how the court case progressess.

All i can say is you haven;t rallied much support amongst the users here, they are either keeping quiet because they are unsure or , as I suspect, believe that this is just not worth the effort and stress. I warn you - it will take over your life trying to get this resolved through the legal system.

I suspect as soon as proceedings are issued, Ikea will take a commercial view and settle it straight away.

I have not gone as far as the legal system . Not as of yet and I will see where I get to . I will keep you posted , I belive this is a dangerous oven due to what it is doing .

I didnt expect to get much support , but I Know I am right , I have taken advise from other people and many consumer advise people say I am right to pursue .

    However I appriciate comments ..
