    Hi girlies!

A plea for help from all you fashionistas, if you can PLEASE!!!

I've just bought this to wear on Saturday night for a reunion do! I love it, it feels really comfortable and flattering.

    http://www.wallis.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=20551&storeId=12557&categoryId=122405&parent_category_rn=45265&productId=1350485&langId=-1

The dress is more of a very dark charcoal, than jet black, with cream and a sort of taupey grey and is thin and silky, though not a shiny silky finish. I bought some 'quality' smooth and fine black opaque tights from John Lewis and plan to wear it with my black and taupe patent platform shoes.

I fancied an oversized clutch bag to go with it, but can't find one anywhere. The woman in Accessorize was pushing me towards this

    http://www.monsoon.co.uk/invt/58953881&bklist=icat,5,shop,accessorize,alleveningbags,clutchbags

and it does go, but isn't exactly what I had in mind. Should I stick to toning shades or would a pop of colour work????? I'm not sure about a black clutch???????????

Any suggestions for the bag please? (around £40 or under would be good, on the other hand, you know what it's like if you find the perfect thing!!!) and/or any other ideas for accessorising.

    Big thanks!

    Bron
    x

I love, love, metalics as ''nuetral'' accesories, particularly shades of gold and copper and bronze (I'm not a silver, platinum or white gold kinda gal), BUT I have had more than gold toned bag and they ALL seem to lose the gold colouring very, very easily. (I've had two from accesorise the rest from more expensive places). A clutch is going to be in your hand and will wear where you hold it. OTOH its not a day to day bad, and so the wear might take a long enough time to build up for you to consider it worth while.

I think its a nice bag, and will go with many an evening outfit in the future.

I suppose I had a big rectangular oversized shiny kind of clutch bag in my mind rather than an evening purse type. Although maybe I'm behind with what's 'in' and what's not, cos I can hardly see any of those in the shops! They had some in John Lewis reduced to £25 from £50, perfect shape, size and style but a very bright, brassy metallic gold or silver and it just looked too bright IMO??

The Monsoon one looks OK, just not terribly excited about it! if I don't get any further inspiration, I'll probably get it!

Its a shame to get a bag thats only ''ok''. No one has on you can borow I suppose?

Id go back with the dress to look at the ones you prefer the size/shape of to look at the John Lewis ones. Look for a window to see in different light. shop lighting can really alter things. :)

Bronnie, that dress is beautiful! I personally would lean towards a silver bag (the first one on the clutch bag section of the Accessorize website is very nice) but that's just me and I'm not very adventurous!

Having said that, I've had a quick shufti on ASOS and there are two very nice ones on there that aren't plain silver:

This is gorgeous (if a little expensive), but were you perhaps looking for something a bit plainer? - http://www.asos.com/Asos/Asos-Black-Leather-Art-Deco-Beaded-Sequin-Clutch/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=796076&cid=8730&Rf36=272&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=200&sort=-1&clr=Pewter

    Or this perhaps? http://www.asos.com/Mango/Mango-Vintage-Panel-Clutch-Bag/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=802621&cid=8730&Rf36=272&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=200&sort=-1&clr=Black

New Look just e-mailed, then called me and said there is a change of plan and instead of Bristol, they are filming in London and could I come there instead as they want to feature me.
I am flattered, but there is NO way I can afford to get up to London, nor would I have anywhere to stay.
    I'm suprisingly gutted :o

Would they not pay for your travel expenses to get there? Worth asking!

Hmm. what time are they filming? Have you thought about a coach? There is a return coach trip from where I am (not a million miles from you!) very cheaply. Have you asked New Look about expenses, they should pay your travel, and its not too far to go and come back in a day -I did it a lot when I was about your age, (which makes me sound ancient, but I'm only 30 :rotfl:)

tell them you want to but can they pay transport!

Have just sent a cheeky e-mail to enquire about travel expenses.
I wouldn't be able to do it in a day though :o I have some health issues which mean I have to take it fairly easy, and a lot of travelling causes havoc with how I feel.
    Now I sound ancient :p

Hi Bronnie:) I would suggest a toning bag rather than a colour, I absolutly love that dress and a good price too, have you looked at River Island recently, they seem to have a lot of nice bags atm, I havnt got time to browse through right now but heres the link
