Thanks for your help with my skirt, hubby seemed to think it was 'too short/possibly too young' while my dad thought it was 'very me and def not too young' so as you can tell they left me totally unsure!
I was originally thinking of a possible twin set, or black top of some description, so your suggestions have been really helpful.
I was worried about looking like mutton dressed as lamb or a complete muppet:rotfl: but with your help i'm sure i wont.

    Thanks again,
    Squibbs x

Squibbs I'm sure you'll look lovely in it - it's such a cute skirt :D

piratefairy - I think the dress is really pretty but if you're not happy with it and won't wear it much then get rid.

Today I'm mostly in black but I feel quite jolly anyway. Lost another 3lbs this week, woop!

Black jeans - Evans (now very much too big but can't be bothered chucking them just yet)
    Black ankle boots - Office
    White vest - Dotty P's
Black thin cableknit sweater - Dotty P's (haven't fitted into it for ages but it fits now :D )
    Pearls - BoBijou

Well done, Alexnikov!! I'm happy too, did my weigh in this morning and have lost another 1lb..NOt that it's making much difference, but I've not been to the gym in a couple of weeks due to feeling too sick, so going to brave it this evening..Feeling positive about it though!! :)

Alex- congrats on the weight loss, that's fantastic :D

Well, after spending most of yesterday feeling utterly miserable, my day was rounded off by my other guinea pig dying of old age/missing his brother :( October is never a good month for me, so I'm now feeling utterly miserable.
However, have motivated myself to get up and dressed,
and when I drop the guinea pig up at the vet for cremation #2 I'm going to go on a long walk and do some window retail therapy. I want to pop in to the town hall and see if I can find any details of boot/jumble sales coming up.

    Outfit:
Black and floral/printed shoulder detail dress: £15 Primark
Grey marl tights: £1.25 boots clearance
Oversize denim shirt instead of cardi: £20 New Look
Flat studded boots: £24 la redoute
Heather purple trench for going outside: £15 TK MAXX
Cream chunky knit scarf: £3.50 Primark

Just realised how expensive my outfit is, for me! Most of it was presents though, I have verrrrry indulgent grandparents :o

piratefairy- congrats on your weight loss too

Big hugs to Daisybella, so sorry to hear more bad news, I hope you find something to cheer you up.

Alex and piratefairy - well done on the weightloss! I missed slimming world on Wednesday due to my sil's birthday, but I've not done so great lately. Back on track today and for the weekend hopefully!!

Squibbs - it is a cute skirt! I'm older than you (39) and I'd wear with opaques and boots.

Today I'm COLD!!! It's freezing in the office and I have a meeting today so had to be tidy, should have put more layers on though. So today I'm wearing:

shortish straight black dress with cream bib/collar detail - £15 Next sale
black fitted cardie - Laura Ashley, present from my parents years ago!
black opaques - Tesco, but they're not very good tbh.
black mary janes - £15 DP sale
Long black necklace - Next sale

I had a find last night!! I burgundy needle cord fitted jacket from years ago :D. I want some new buttons to jazz it up a bit.
  • Aw daisybella, I'm sorry to hear about your guinea pig. :(

I'm in work this morning then off to London this afternoon, so today's outfit is:

    - Black fitted shirt with short puff sleeves (Dorothy Perkins)
    - Black wrap style pencil skirt (Dorothy Perkins)
    - Black Mary Jane shoes (M&S)
    - Sheer tights (M&S)
    - Electric blue trench coat (New Look) to come into work
    - Brown leather handbag
    - Usual jewellery

In work until at least one o'clock depending how much I have to do, then off to London (possibly making a shop-based detour when I have to change trains) to see my boyfriend. No plans for tonight though other than chilling out at his flat.

Have a good Friday and enjoy your weekend everyone!
