lostinrates - I saw some ladies thermal trousers in Aldi yesterday. These might be an alternative to jeans or tracksuit bottoms. We both spend a lot of time working outside and OH has thermal trousers in several colours which he gets from T J Hughs. I think they are meant for hiking but are OK for any outside activity. The price was reasonable but I didn't pay much attention as I don't need any just now. I have always found that jeans with thick woolen tights underneath and knitted woollen socks on top were OK even in the coldest weather. But I wish I could find some that really are "on the waist", by which I mean above the navel, I hate low cut jeans!0

Thank you. I'll have to try and haave a look and take all these suggestions in mind.
I like the idea of festival chic, BUT, I think once, like me, you areover blessed with natural insulation, it just doesn't look like festival chic, it looks less great!
I'd never really thought of combats, thats worth considering: practical too.
I'm feling less ''down'' today and think maybe I should stick with the cruddy clothes and just keep trying to lose weight.:o
ETA: clothes today: jeansmustard tunic, sludgey green scarf, cream and brown handbag and brown boots, wedding ring and gold earings.

I feel down in the dumps today, not 100% sure why, just this time of year I suppose even though we have glorious sunshine today. I'm going to drag myself out on a walk later and get some fresh air.
Outfit:
Skinny jeans: the ones I seem to live in lately, which is odd as I never usually wear jeans.
Longline checked shirt, possibly meant to be a dress but I'm tall!: £18 New Look last year
Basic vest under shirt: ?? Miss Selfridge
Brown knee length fringed boots: £12 New Look sale

Morning all!
Work again for me today, and today's outfit is:
- Oatmeal V neck jumper (Dorothy Perkins)
- White shirt (M&S) under jumper
- Black A line skirt (eBay)
- Skinny black belt (taken out of an old New Look skirt) around waist
- Brown patent pumps with black toes (vintage shop in York)
In work until half five, then home to finish packing for this weekend.
I am however getting a bit frustrated at the moment - long story short, I'm off to see my boyfriend in London tomorrow and he has informed me that as part of my birthday present he's taking me for afternoon tea on Saturday. However, a quick Google has led me to discover that the hotel has a 'smart casual' dress code, and I have literally no clue what to wear...

Afternoon, my lovelies!
Just back from an even more fab than usual boot sale (In addition to a whole heap of other bargains I managed to get £766 worth of new and tagged Urban Oufitters stuff for £20 - that's all my pals' Xmas pressies sorted out!).
It's a gorgeous day here today, just a little chilly. Shall be spending the rest of the day photographing and uploading eBay stuff and my weekend starts tonight - out with a gang of mates I haven't seen in a few weeks, yipee!!!
Today's outfit:
Crazy 1960's turquoise cotton mini dress with huge pink, white, green and brown circles, a ruffled neckline and a frilled hem (Bought in despair from a vintage clothes stall at Indie Tracks after BF forget to pack my clothes - £15)
Black leggings (Present)
Vintage cowboy boots (Car boot sale 50p)
Usual pile of tribal silver bangles and rings (India)
Big tuquoise enamel disc earrings (Bay 60p)
Vintage brown leather jacket, looks like a skinny shirt and fastens with big buttons (Bought from Banardo's Charity shop 16 years ago for £7)
Vintage green wool beret
Tooled leather cartridge bag (Salvation Army £1)
Have a great day, gang!

Hi guys,

I wonder if any of you can assist me with something!
I bought a skirt from Matalan the other week and i cant find anything to go with it LOL
http://www.matalan.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion-to-buy-online//Mini-kilt/7258
I'm a 36 year old mum of 2, (currently SAHM) size 10, dark(ish) hair styled into a bob, (if that makes any difference LOL)
Either im really boring or have must completely lost the plot (probally both :rotfl:)
Can anyone throw some suggestions around please.
I know you all tend to look fab, so here's hoping you can help me.
Seems a shame to take the skirt back when i really like it.
Oh yes, just for the record, i dont normally wear skirts, might be why i'm having trouble
