Girls, I'm feeling down about my animal care clothes, and fat an frumpy today. I'm going to ask for some input on choosing a new jacket soon. I'd been hoping to put it off till I'd lost more weight but I'm relaising that as often as not I see more people in my horrid animal clothes as anything else and its truely needing to be addressed. Trousers have to be sorte too: jeans don't work for me at all but tracksuit trousers are geting me down. I need a flexible/stretch trouser (I have to carry bales, push barrows, crawl through nd over fences and walk a distance, and I have no feeling to my skin on torso: jeans as well as being uncomfortable and ungiving sometimes, have cused a few sores/abrasions without me noticing in the past. I want to do all of this and, at least before I'm muddy, look a bit smarter.0

Can you get something along the lines of Regatta trousers? Or generic "activity" type trousers? They're usually a bit smarter than tracksuit bottoms but nice and comfy and with lots of pockets which is always a bonus
Or cords? I do love my cords.

Thanks daisybella. I love your skirt today (for some reason I find it really hard to comment on blogs, I have to keep re-regisering, but I do look!).0 -
Hey peeps, hope everyone is good, love the blog Grammargirl, have you got one too Daisybella? Can you send me the link?
Today's outfit is:
Shirred hearts and flowers tunic (Topshop via ebay £8ish)
Black vintage boyfriend tuxedo jacket (Free, my grampy bought the whole suit for less than £5 in a charity shop and gave it to my mum and dad thinking someone in the family might wear it, think he was thinking more my brother than me though ;-) but wearing it makes me feel closer to him which is nice)
Charcoal flat fringed suede ankle boots (Topshop sale £25)
Anyway hope everyone's day is better than mine, its absolutely peeing it down here and I'm off for my second trip to the postie later but I did get a vintage marks and sparks double breasted navy blazer come today (£3 inc p&p ebay) yay.
Oh and inspired by Goanmad I tried to go to our local carboot yesterday but it was rained off :-( there's another tomorrow and on sat so I just hope the weather improves, I'm dreaming of amazing bargainous finds and I can't be patient much longer!
Ooh and another thing, I wonder if you guys can help me, I'm coveting a pair of flat black over the knee boots and have seen a great matalan pair in mags and on tv but everytime I check in store they never have them and they're not online, and I was just wondering if anyone knew when matalan get deliveries or if any of you go there anyway maybe you could just see if they've come in yet, only if you're going anyway obv.
They're the ones on this page: http://www.shoeperwoman.com/2009/08/matalan-shoes-winter-2009.html
Let me know what you think of them and thanks girlies xStarted Comping 25th September 2013.

LIR, sounds like you're down in the fashion dumps. Have you thought about some (dare I say it) elasticated waist jeans in a dark, stretchy fabric? I know it sounds hideously unstylish but they've come a long way and I've seen a few pairs in Topshop and the likes that look totally comfortable and not at all mumsy. Or you could go for leggings rather than trousers, with long tunic tops, knee high socks and your wellies? Festival chic for everyday! I find leggings SO comfortable because the waistband doesn't dig in. Sitting in an office chair everyday is horrible in jeans, I often undo the top button!
If I'm feeling a bit down and grey, I have a pampering session and it really perks me up. Pluck your eyebrows, paint your toe nails, do a face mask and exfoliate then moisturise. Hope you feel more cheerful soon.
Piratefairy, I got your lovely comment, thanks so much!0 -
Hi lostinrates, sorry your feeling down:grouphug:my suggestion would be light weight combats, hard wearing, practical, easy to put thermals on underneath and imo they look good, also adjustable if you loose weight;)dd has started wearing light weight tracksuit bottoms to the yard, all the girls do this not to my taste but she likes them also are johds no good? Good idea from gg about the elasticated waist certainly worth looking at but they just make me cringe:rotfl:Hope you feel happier soon;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Hey, I had a quikck look at the boots, I like!! I've found the Matalan website to be really behind with it's stock, so even when things are featured in mags etc, it has been a few weeks before the site caught up..I found that wiuth the launch of the Be Beau range anyway. Hopwever, I promise to have a look next time I go to my local one, what size would you be after??0 -

I thought that might be the case, cos I saw them in Company at least a month ago and then they were on GMTV and I was shouting at the screen! It would be great if you could have a look see for me, I'd be so grateful, we only have one matalan in cornwall and its about 20 miles away so I can't check as often as I'd like, but I think if they're in stock in one, they should be in another. I'd need an 8 to fit my hooves in.
I've also seen these peacocks ones http://www.peacocks.co.uk/Womenswear/Footwear/Boots/BLACK_STUDDED_OVER_THE_KNEE__BOOTS_-44029075.html
But they'd definitely be my second choice, I don't know I know studs are on trend but I think fake leather always looks worse/cheaper than fake suede, besides I haven't seen them in store either! I'm still holding out a smidgen of hope for some vintage real suede ones on ebay or at a car boot, but think the chances of finding them in my size and price range (up to £40) are slim to say the least. Thanks so much Piratefairy, and is anyone else contemplating over the knee boots? xxStarted Comping 25th September 2013.
