Oh my word, you lot are in chatty form today!

Currently scoffing my lunch in between meetings and don't have time to catch up properly but just wanted to say welcome to all the new posters and hurrah for new blogs.

Welcome Sadie and nici, as you can see we're very chatty here ;-) nici, you're now on my blogroll.

Today's outfit (not sure when I'll get a chance for pics)

    Black trousers
Deep purple 3/4 sleeve tshirt with wide neck worn off shoulder
    Black eyelet belt

I'm waiting for an eBay delivery of a wide belt, desperate for it to get here. I really need to update my wardrobe away from all the tent tops my mother loves to buy for me (because they're 'flattering'... ie hide my shape completely...) Still, she's going on holiday next week which means I can pinch her sewing machine. Muhahahaha.

(have put a handful more bits and bobs on the blog..)

sadie, welcome to the thread too..

giddynici, will add you to my reading list too..it's growing by the day!

ladyfalco, good news about the shoes..i find ICs can be really odd fits sometimes, i remember going to schuh with an ex, who agreed to buy me two pairs for xmas..i tried them both on and ended up with one pair in a 7 and the other in an 8!
and i definitely don't think you can go wrong with a tulip skirt for daytime..i really really really want this when the clothes ban is lifted lol..

maybe put it with tights and flats, and a tshirt for daytime if you don't want it to look too dressed up, but im of the opinion that you can never look too dressed up haha..

i know this is going to sound daft, but what actually constitutes a tea dress? i know i'm thinking florals, cottons, but..is it an actual style?? because im sure i just call all my "day dresses" tea dresses..
talking of which, i'm really also liking this:

    Hello ladies.

I though it was about time I came out of the shadows and stop lurking. I've been following this thread for quite a while but never got the courage to post.

I love clothes and buy lots but unfortunately are not very inspired. I live in jeans because as a stay at home mummy they are more practical. I would love to be a bit more adventurous but I hate my size at the moment, which is something that I am working on at the moment.

    Today I am wearing

    Black straight leg jeans(Asda)
    White top(Next)
    Red v neck long jumper(Primark)
Multicolour stripe knee length socks(underneath jeans)

So you see not very inspired. I need help!!

Edited to add that I love ebay and charity shops.

    Hi and welcome!

ARGH leggings! they show off the bumps !!! not good lol

I was looking at that top the other week and wasnt sure . . will have to go have a nosey! I havent got any pumps - Well i have but they're white and for the wedding lol not sure i could get away with those ones!!

Moonbabe - I'm going to try Primark at the weekend - I HATE the place tho so may come back empty handed x

I love leggings it depends on how you wear them and the quality- if you buy a cheap see through pair and wear them with a short tshirt then thats not going to be flattering but a good pair with a knee length dress and pumps can look great- I prefer them to tights most of the time as tights tend to cut me off in the middle where leggings dont as they have a soft waistband.

I too love ebay but NEVER find bargains! I love tea dresses but never find any cheap on ebay and find them quite expensive in dps etc

I got a cute dress off ebay the other day for a couple of pound (i buy all my stuff off ebay atm lol) tis a floral tea dress but was just listed as "dress" no size on the listing title or anything- its worth sitting for a while and going through all the listings for dresses if its something you really what you never know what you can bring up.

Im thinking I should on in on this blog game as Im hopeless at describing my stuff right! Would it take up lots of time though?

  • PF that dress is lovely and that skirt....argh! Mentally spent over 200 quid this morning I think!

Personally I class a tea dress as a 1940's style wartime dress you know with button up front- thats just me though and Im clueless lol

    ETA hi to Tara! *waves*
