PirateFairy - My friends and I often decry the lack of ingenuity and individuality in the "younger generation's" dress sense.
In the late 70's and early 80's when we were first into clothes there weren't many cheap high street shops (just Chelsea Girl and C&A) so unless you wanted to look like every other girl you had to learn to get inventive with the sewing machine and second-hand stuff, hence the punk and New Romantic movements. It's so refreshing to see a younger person dressed imaginatively!
I know what you mean despite me being an unimaginative dresser. For me I blame indie and grunge era, where we all wore jeans/leggings with plaid shirts or band t shirts and army/dm boots. It was either that or girlie which I didn't do. I am still having trouble moving on:rotfl:lol - well i have a mini collection of shoes but strut my stuff in trainers lol
Ok - what abot this http://www.dorothyperkins.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=true&catalogId=20552&storeId=12552&categoryId=145936&parent_category_rn=88619&productId=1470518&langId=-1 with Dark Jeans and knee boots?
I like that. I do think separates is a good idea - but I think you are a bit like me and need a bit of confidence so a ready made outfit is ideal for now. It's a bit like the dress cardi combo I had on my blog a few weeks ago.retro_bluebell wrote: »Ive signed up for a blog mwahahahah! Yay! I'm only a few weeks in. I find reading everyone else far more time consuming than writing mine.

Welcome rainbow
Heehee it's nothing like school honest! If I ever feel brave I will show you all what I looked like at 16, definitely NOT trendy (and still not trendy if I'm honest!)
Caroline - I did the plaid and jeans thing too, but was happiest when dressing 'weird' as everyone called it... then I began to worry about what people thought... and now I'm back to just not caring!
