Flapjack recipe for anyone who wants it
    (beware, it makes tonnes!)

    Sticky Chocolate Flapjacks

    Ingredients:
    500g oats
    250g butter
    250g honey
    250g dark brown sugar
    10 tbsp. desiccated coconut
    100g dark chocolate chips

Melt the butter, honey and sugar in a pan until smooth.
Take the mixture off heat and add the oats and desiccated coconut.
Wait til the mixture cools and add the chocolate chips. Mix.
Put greaseproof paper on a baking tray and smooth the flapjack mix into a layer with the back of a spoon.
Cut into squares when it cools and hardens.

I made these yesterday and can vouch they are lovely! Also made fairy cakes with the little un but didnt have any cake cases left so had to use the muffin tin so ended up with fairy cakes the size of muffins nom nom nom!

I think I'll be 28 by the time I'm slim enough to wear one :rotfl: I do have a beautiful grey Warehouse one taunting me from my wardrobe - I've had it since I was 14 and have worn it a grand total of once. Determined to get back into it!

Ooh if you do, can we please have a "how-to" guide on the blog?

I'll do my best! I'll have a go at making another one and taking photos of each step.

Yep, I'm 43 and couldn't give a toss whether some bored journo thinks I look good. I feel more confident now than I ever did in my teens and twenties.
  • Morning Everyone,

I hope you don't mind me joining in. Have been reading this thread and checkin out everyones blogs and it's fab. Really want to get out of the rut of wearing jeans all the time out of work so I'm going to use this thread and your blogs to keep me focused if thats okay.

    Today I am wearing:

White cap sleeve blouse - gap
Blue skirt with white and purple dotted stripes - fat face
Purple tights with faint diagonal line - dp (i think)
    Eiffel Tower necklace - accessorize

Not very goo at explaining so will put a picture on my brand new blog (if I can work out how).

    Nic

  • I think that's the most impostant thing, goan..I went thru a phase of jeans and tshirts every day in college, until I suddenly realised that I ought to wear the things I liked, which were hiding in the depths of my wardrobes (waiting for a "special occasion") instead of just trying to fit in with the crowd..Once I realised that I had the necessary confidence to break with the normal procedure, that was the end of jeans for me lol

lost, i agree that clothing shouldn't jsut be down to age - regardless of how old you are, some things suit you and some don't, which is what i keep telling myself when it comes to skinny jeans, jeggings and the like..and it makes me cringe everytime i see young girls out on a weekend, wearing something that looked dreadful on them, just because it was in the window of river island that week :S

ladyfalco, i too need to be more ruthless when it comes to clearing out the wardrobe! i still keep almost everything (just in case)

mommyme, i hope you manage to get the headlight sorted, and the woman is good about sorting it out..i remember being in tears after someone drove into my car on the way to uni, admitting it was completely her fault at the time (as she pulled out of a junction and into me on the main road!) and then once i sorted out the quote etc, decided it was my fault..it can be really stressful, but it's important to keep calm and make sure you get your point across calmly..

daisy - flapjacks are still tempting me, i may try and pick up some ingredients at lunchtime and have a go this evening..

ETA - hello and welcome, giddynici :)
