I've just found this thread whilst finding the using up cosmetic threads - nice to see some familiar faces!

I've set myself a challenge for February - to wear skirts to work every day (or dresses)

I've gone off wearing trousers recently as I put a bit of weight back on and they don't fit very well so I keep wearing jeans to work, which is ok, but then I don't feel very smart, I am building up a little collection of jersey dresses though, which I love and I'm hoping I'll be able to keep this up.

    So today I'm wearing:
Jumper from Wallis - mum bought it for me last Christmas :-)
Skirt from Monsoon - nearly 4 years old mum bought it for me for an interview.

(she doesn't buy all my clothes but does tend to buy me some things for presents)

    Then black M&S tights
Shoes purple flat with bar from Clarks last Christmas sale - were about £25-£30

So 3 days successfully achieved, 17 to go!
    Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
    Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98
    Overpayments to date - £79.62
Current Mortgage free date - January 2058
  • Of course - selling my old stuff is what helps me buy new things! Plus it keeps my OH off my back as I can say well I sold some old stuff I don't wear so that makes it ok ;)

I might have a look into it again then, I don't know where I've picked up that there isn't much money to be made out of it

I've got a few things that i could do with getting rid of, a pair of dune boots which I bought in a 5 (I'm a 6) wore twice and decided that they were crippling me :rotfl:and I've got a pair of peep toe zebra print shoes with a pink leather bow on the front from schuh which I've only worn once, still in their box feeling neglected...and that's just for starters!
*wonders when they will make dressing gowns acceptable day wear?*
No new toiletries challenge - use up the stash first!

i've found that there's not as much to be made rwecently (say last 6 months or so)..i've always just sold clothes that i no longer wear, shoes etc..and have found that the prices i used to get for certain types / makes, don't seem to happen any longer!

My sales actually seem to have picked up over the past month. I thought that there would be no point in listing stuff as it wouldn't sell because January is always a dodgy month as people are waiting to get paid after Christmas but I thought I'd stick a few things on and got good prices for all of them.

Admitedly I don't make as much as I was about 18 months ago but if it is not getting used then it is getting put on Ebay bit by bit. My main aim now is to declutter a bit more than anything as we want to move house this year. I'd rather try and get something back for it if I can - anything that I know I'm not going to get much for isn't worth the time spent putting it on so it's going to the charity shop :)

I'll post a pic for the world to see my silly silly purchases that stay in their boxes crying because they are unworn and unloved:rotfl:

  • Ive sol 150 quid off stuff on ebay over the past month- 90% of that is clothes all in my old size 14 and I have a LOT of things in that size including all my old workwear- all sold for a few pounds here but it all adds up- I agree with certain brands not fetching what they should though, it doesnt seem the same when Im searching for something though its always sky high prices lol

Hey again guys :) Hope everyone is well!
I am having the afternoon off and slouching in a hoody, having just taken delivery of my bargain topshop dolphin boots http://www.topshop.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=19551&storeId=12556&categoryId=175037&parent_category_rn=175013&productId=1387074&langId=-1

Got them from ebay for £40. Sorry about the long link! Been looking for some nice casual knee boots for ages and they had sold out in all the stores. Want them in tan too now!

Just got my ELF cosmetics too and very impressed.

Fab boots loulou! I am going to treat myself to a pair of lovely boots when I get down to target weight (hopefully around May time). I've never owned a pair - legs have always been too fat :o

What's this ELF stuff like then? I don't really wear very much makeup so I have no clue about products!
Oh I love the liverpool primark alex! i guess that's cos my closest one is Telford, which although recently revamped, is still a bit chavvy for my tastes..

It's just a bit too big for my liking! Also I lose my rag a bit when walking round and round and round the floors to get from top to bottom. Tried going in the lift once and got a right rollocking from some snotty mums with pushchairs who seemed to think it was reserved for their use only

    Hi tsabo :)

Rather than reply to comments posted, I tend to follow links to the posters blog if they have one and comment there :)
