Well done Dylan!!!!
Hope things go ok at the consultant, it's such a long time to wait, LIR. As for bobbling use a slightly blunt razor and shave the clothes gently.0 -
Wow, had never thought of that, Caroline - genius!0

I saw Anthea Turner do it on her perfect housewife programme, but I'm happy to take credit!0 -
Hi all - can I join in, I used to post on this thread last year:o it had another name then but lost the plot over the summer hols as I was wearing the same type stuff and it would have got v boring but its only took me 6 months to return:p I have been reading avidly, I do love clothes also hate to spend a fortune, I love a good rummage in the sales and picking up bargains.
Piratefairy- I love your shoes and have now checked out the irregular choice brand, have my eye on some leopard print ankle boots in the Schuh sale, have to do a bit more ebaying to treat myself;)
Anyway todays outfit ;
Black tea dress with red/ pink flower pattern - M&S sale
Red tights
Black boots - Evans (the only ones that fit my chunky calves:o)
Was wearing grey boyfriend cardi again M&S sale £30 -
Hello! I'm really annoyed because I've been trying desperately to take some photos of myself and it just isn't working, I've given up!
Outfit of the day (which I love, hence the attempted photography)
black skinny jeans (LTS via CS overdyed by me)
magenta polo neck (New Look sale)
owl print tunic dress (Joe Browns)
black sheepskin ankle boots (Celtic Sheepskin Co)
School run time already whoops!
I ordered the owl dress on friday (along with a couple of pretty dresses & necklaces in the sale) I'm so excited about my order getting hereI got this and this with an extra 25% off with a code (MAR119) I'd not seen any joe brown stuff before but i'll be keeping an eye on their site from now on.
I've been in jeans/tracksuit bottoms while revising for the past month but i finish on friday so it'll be great to have nice new things to wearNeed some nice boots now, preferably dark brown and flat but i'm not having much luck finding any i can afford.

Lostinrates - I've missed your posts. Fingers crossed for a positive outcome from the consultant. It's horrid you have to wait so long. When are you planning to travel to? Jeggings sound a great idea. I've got some and they're great for layering purposes (although I have to wear clip-on braces to stop them falling off).
Thanks dear one, both for a lovely compliment and the good wishes.
Um, Brussels then Paris. I have been to Paris a fair few times over the years, but not for a long time, and never alone: in fact, the whole thing, traveling alone to two places and doing things two/three days in a row is a big deal: more independent than I will have been for years since I got ill. I'm also, perhaps optimistically, not taking any fall back things like walking sticks...haven't used them for ages, and some times do as a bit of a security blanket, just in case. Have decided if I really do end up sore or tired I will.....get a cab, very luxurious! Generally though, I get about pretty darn well, and if I get tired I'll just sit and have a coffee. I got through a whole exercise vid three days last week: walkin is much easier!:D
I want to go to new places in Paris, not sure what to do yet, I have about 5-6 hours I think ...I don't know it REALLY well, only as a shopper and tourist. Chance I'll at some point run into people before changing out of day clothes, so need to look sort of ''acceptable'' so trying to tone down a bit, plus light travelling means the jeggings might be right? Urgh, its so much harder when one is chubby. This same risk of needing to look smartish though is sort of liberating, as it feels sort of safe, like a costume. I've always struggled with ''conventional smart/casual'' tbh. I'm unconventionally messily overdressed or covered in mud.
Caroline, thank you! Its in a terrible state but I love the jumper, and its long enough to cover bum and top opf thighs and can be dressed up fairly easily, so I'll shave it and let you know if I can make it presentable. I suppose I should wash it first, otherwise I'll wash in more bobbles!0 -
Hi everyone,
I've been reading this thread for quite awhile now and thought I might as well join in!
Today, I'm wearing:
River Island skinny jeans
Gap cream stripey top
M&S short brown cardigan
Brown Moccassion boots..that I love!
I know some of you do ebaying and I have loads of clothes and was thinking of selling them but have no idea what to charge for postage.
Can anyone tell me how much for a t-shirt or a pair of jeans?
Thanks0 -
Hi Lola and Holly - welcome to the thread.
Marzipanfish (? why?) I really wanted that owl tunic but I realised I'd spent £200 last month on clothes and jewellery, and £100 in December so thought I'd better not as OH needed a new suit for work.
Holly - start at 99p and be prepared to sell at that price, just make sure your P&P covers all fees, postage and packaging costs. Anything you make over the initial 99p is a bonus then. Start it too high and people won't bid.
LIR - I have tried it myself and it does work but is very boring!
ETA - I sound horrible spending on myself while OH has nothing for work - my December spend was vouchers I had a presents and January was money I made from selling bits. I'm not that cruel, lol0 -
Lost - I've had some amazing adventures travelling solo. I know what you mean about the sticks, I had mine far longer than I should have just to keep people at bay as I felt so vunerable, it's so liberating to ditch them and be perceived as "normal" again. I've never been to Brussels but I adore Paris.
As a fellow money saver I'm sure you'd enjoy this book

Welcome hollylangman37! I send all my eBay stuff via Second Class recorded after several bad experiences with items going astray. Jeans generally cost £2.99 and a tee-shirt around £2.20.0 -
:wave::wave: to Holly and Lola.
Well, quiet day today. Last of the eBay parcels went out, will be relisting stuff in a couple of days including tons of formal dresses from when I was younger and considerably less busty than now (FS, I appreciate your pain in trying to get a dress to fit.)
Today's throw-together, on a striped theme:
Pink and black striped long socks (market)
Mary-jane style Docs (online)
Blue flare jeans (La Redoute)
Black and white striped V-neck t-shirt (gifted)
Black low V-neck tunic top
Metallic multi-striped scarf (worn as belt, New Look)
Multi-striped wool gauntlets (Lochcarron)
I like stripes...!"All cruelty springs from weakness" - Lucius Annaeus SenecaPersonal pronouns are they/them/their, please.
I'm intolerant of wheat, citrus, grapes, grape products and dried vine fruits, tomato, and beetroot, and I am also somewhat caffeine sensitive.0
