Afternoon everyone:)
Been busy with work etc so just been coming on MSE to do comps, got a busy weekend coming up but will try to get on here if poss:)
Been shopping today for dds school uniform and bits and pieces had a lovely day and a nice lunch I was wearing
Maxi black dress with mutlcoloured lace trim, boob tube style - local shop
Black studded patent sandals
Black paddington - chloe
I really need some cheap n cheerful jewels any ideas?
What about making your own? Type 'vintage charm' or similar in eBay and thousands of auctions will come up! Charms cost between 10p and £1 and if you type 'jewellery findings' into eBay you'll get chains and jump rings to attach your charms.
If that all sounds like too much work (it is easy, I promise! And no one will have a necklace like yours), have a hunt round the charity shops. I agree with gymfiend, Primark do great jewellery too for a couple of quid.0 -
Thank you gymfiend and GrammerGirl, I never thought to make my own, I love that no one else would have the same, just to find the time but I will check out ebay:TI would love to shop in primark, when I lived in London there were several close by so I was spoiled now living in rural heaven but no Primark unless I travel about 35 miles in which case I'm half way to London and Camden Market anyway;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Evening all.
littlesnuggy - love the outfit and well done for daring to post a pic!
goanmad - what kind of things do you sell in your eBay shop?
I've been interviewing potential volunteers at work today so had to wear something other than jeans for once. So it was:
Wool herringbone trousers (they're an impossible colour to describe but they have a hint of brown in them) - Monsoon
Cream pinstripe vest top - Next clearance store
Chocolate brown linen shirt dress - New Look
Tan sandals - Tesco
Cream beaded earrings
Necklace of tiny cowrie shells wound round my wrist a few times as a makeshift bracelet0 -
Hello!!
I'm off for the weekend, as ever I spent aaaages packing last night, trying to decide what outfits to bring. And I'd left all the defuzzing etc till the last minute, it was hectic!! :rotfl:
I'm wearing a lovely black and white striped top and black A-line skirt today, with black kitten heels and I feel a bit chic! The top is from Miss Selfridge circa 2002 and cost £30 (and the skirt is from Gap circa 2009 and cost me £3 in a charity shop! This, my fashionista friends, perfectly illustrates the change in my attitude to spending in the last 3-4 years. Before, I wouldn't have thought twice about spending £30 on a top - now, the very idea horrifies me!
Having said that, I guess I was pretty discerning in my purchases even then as I have quite a lot of clothes that last me for years, both in quality and style. This top, for example, is a classic design and the cost per wear is in pennies after 7 years. But I still wouldn't pay £30 for it these days!! I'd be buying it for £5 in the saleGet to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hello all!
Here is what I am wearing today (note to self: should really listen to what the forecast is in Blackpool, where it is now going nice after a rainy drive to work):
- Red three quarter sleeve scoop front and back top (Dorothy Perkins)
- Charcoal grey wide leg trousers (French Connection via sister)
- Cream quilted ballet pumps with black patent tips (New Look)
In work until two or three (depending whether or not things go mental after lunch), then off to get the train down to London to see my boyfriend for a nice long weekend together

Hey Gang, happy friday to you all!
Tara and Esme, hope you both have lovely trips this weekend.
Alexnikov: I sell clothes and accessories on eBay, mainly vintage with some funky high street and finds from my Indian travels.
I've been swimming this morning walking back via the local charity shops and market, snaffling a few bargains on the way - a faux snakeskin oversized clutch with zingy yellow panel (£3), tiny tooled leather cartridge bag (£3), 1970's psychedellic silk scarf (50p) and some vintage Lee jeans (£1.25).
The weather can't decide whether it's summer or autumn today what with torrential rain, gusts of wind and glorious sunshine, it had better sort itself out for tomorrow as I'm planning to visit the car boot sale.
I'm wearing:
Vintage 70's flared jeans (£1 car boot sale)
Vintage red shadow stripe tie-neck blouse (10p jumble sale)
Cherry red peep-toe platform wedges with wooden soles (TopShop 3 years ago purchased with vouchers)
Black 1950's gold framed super-size bag with yellow rose print (20p car boot sale)
Skinny black leather waist belt (5p jumble sale)
Big silver hoop earrings with turquoise beads, silver bangles and tribal rings (all bought in India)
Super-size 70's vintage YSL shades (50p car boot sale)
Have a splendid weekend! :beer:0 -
Hello all. Goanmad, your outfit sounds absolutely fabulous. I love cherry red shoes, they sound good enough to eat!
I'm pleased with myself today as I snapped up some Steve Madden purple suede platform sandals in the Shudoo sale. Reduced from £90 to £50 so still a little expensive but I fell head over heels for them (excuse the pun) so very happy. Can't wait for them to arrive, along with my two eBay prizes! Hopefully everything will be here by Tuesday.
Here's today's:
Black oversized vest with beige celtic-style embroidery (£16, Topshop)
Black vest
Tan leather plaited belt
Black leggings
Brown cardi
Brown suede pumps with gold detail (one of which has sadly broken during the course of the day! My favourite pumps!)
Huge heart-shaped black and gold cocktail ring (£4, Miss Selfridge)
Gold nameplate necklace
Gold peace sign necklace (handmade)
TGIF, and Bank Holiday weekend! Hurrah!0 -
