  • Afternoon all, and Happy New Year... my weekend in Leeds was not great, I wanted to come home on New Years Day as I can't stand the smoky house they live in but OH wasnt having it, so we came home last night and now I have such a sore throat! I'm sure someone said a little milk chocolate can help so I'm exaggerating this advice and eating Mingles by the handful! Been quite good over these last 2 weeks so today I don't care!

Went out for a walk, no point getting changed to lounge about so wearing for warmth not fashion!
Long sleeved black tshirt with tiny pink and green flowers, Primark
Short sleeve black jumper with low cut front, Asda
    Blue bootcut jeans, Evans
Mulitcoloured cotton scarf, airport shop in Tanzania
Left the multicoloured spotty Jileon wellies from Amazon on the doorstep!

    xx

Daisybella, once you are over the cold don't rule out the tonics designed for older people...Seven Seas B vit tonic, or another one....I can't remember whats its called, but its the nameless one that I use. :) It sunds silly but they really an give one a boost if a bit run down...they are a bit sugary though. ;)

Daisy....Just jumped in on the thread without reading it all :o but would agree with lir. On my mum's advice from years ago, I've always had a bottle of Minadex around the place for DD2, although she's now 21. Despite all the poo-poo-ing about tonics being a waste of money, if she's been under the weather or in the middle of the winter I get her to take it for a week or so and it really does boost her up, she feels the difference less tired and lethargic and the benefit is actually rapidly evident in how she looks. She's healthy, but less robust than 'hale and hearty' DD1 and myself and doesn't have a massive appetite so I'd say WELL WORTH a try, especially at this time of year.

I'll speak to my doctor tomorrow and see what she thinks. I already take forceval (a full nutritional vit/mineral supplement) so would need to check before I add anything else in to the mix,
thank you (all of you) for your advice and suggestions :)

Cold and tired today, but still, the sun is out and no snow!

    Wearing:
    long sleeve cream thermal: peacocks
lilac floral tea dress: primark via ebay
    grey chunky bf cardigan: matalan
    raspberry tights: new look

I'm still in my pjs, oh the shame of it.

I'm currently in the middle of a huge blitz on my wardrobe, chest of drawers and shoe and handbag collection though so it doesn't seem quite worth it putting any decent clothes on. It's making me feel quite energised though :D

Good evening! It's so cold here today, we've had a bit of snow but now it's just bitter. I had a horrible experience today - a GIGANTIC pheasant hit my car and damaged my wing mirror. It's not much damage but I felt so sad to leave the pheasant injured on the side of the road. I couldn't stop as it was a dual carriageway with no hard shoulder. :(

Anyway, for that bit of excitement I was wearing:

    Skinny jeans
Brown jersey top with lace corsage
    Dusky pink cardigan
    Brown leather boots
    Parka
    Purple and gold vintage scarf
    Cream knitted beanie

I hope the weather's kind for the first day back at work tomorrow!

GG - think yourself lucky because it could have been so much worse if it got your windscreen. I had my first roadkill last month after 19 years of driving. I ran over a squirrel just outside Centerparcs and my children still haven't forgiven me!

Today - I'm in hot pink vest and a royal blue wraparound jumper, blue jeans, purple pumps, usual jewellery and a silver/royal blue/purple beaded bracelet from Smithsonia in Brum. Wearing a purple coat when I go out.

Got the GHD's out today because yesterdays curls looked rubbish once I'd slept!

Going to a team meeting at work so can get away with 'dress down' - although most of the time my dress down is smarter than many peoples dress up!

Caroline- same, my dressed down is often smarter than my friends ideas of dressing up...people took a while to get used to it, haha, especially where I live, tis a tiny village, so anything outside of the "normal" uniform of the general population earns odd glances!

    Oh man, rambling already!
Bit anxious about my appointment this morning, hoping I can get away with another month between visits (wish me luck!)
I'm going to freeze, as I have to wear clothes that weigh light and can easily be removed :(

    Black thermal camisole: uniqlo
Black heavy duty thermal: gift from canadian friend
Rock and roll jumper dress: new look
    Black thermal tights: tesco
    Silver glittery leggings: zara
    Over knee boots: asos

+ gloves, snood and winter coat.

I had EIGHT layers on this morning, and a hood over my hat, and sort of head/neck thing...and two pairs of gloves. I was still freezing at 6:15am, but almost too warm coming back now.

Just abou to put on some dispreputable black trousers, and keep on boring long black T over the vest, and probably a black tracksuit top. Prosaiclly I'm going to wear ugly muckers: I can' risk slipping over and they are warm, I'm struggling for warm foot wear I HATE Uggs, but by ood ness I which I had some today!

I'm going to habve a look at the sales. Might not buy anything, not sure what size to buy ATM....but I should buy some stuff....there is stuff I could do with....just....the size is the issue. TBH, despite hating them if I see some ripp off ugs I might buy them.....my feet were numbe with cold last night, only thing I coud feel were the bunions!

Edit: change of plan, staying in now! So quick change, old black evening dress slippers, cream crochet cardigan, and blue shrug...
