Goan- I got rid of my ex bf after he kept trying to get me to dress like his female friends
(um, not sure how to describe it without risking offending anyone, but it truly wasn't my style...imagine the furthest thing away from how I dress and your about there!)

Lostinrates! Get the belt! I love belts, they completely change an outfit (and sell well on eBay if you change your mind).

OK, consider me told! I'll go and buy it...:o

Good on ya, Daisy! As you've got such impeccible taste I can only imagine how he wanted you to dress .

Lostinrates - Good, glad you've decided to buy the belt. It's always a great test of whether you truly like something if you keep thinking of it when you get home! xx

Lostinrates that belt does sound like a good one and you obviously really like it so get it!
You wouldn't offend anyone Daisy (at least not me) - everyone has different taste and you're allowed to say that you don't like things.
On Christmas day I'll no doubt be wearing something over the top and velvety, it is a bit of a tradition of mine.
I would never dress to please someone else again as needless to say even when I dressed to please the ex it didn't please him, nothing did. I'm lucky enough to be with someone who encourages my eccentricities now!

By the way, I've nothing against wearing jeans and t-shirts it's just not me and it is also dreadfully unflattering on my figure. Hope I haven't caused any offence!

Mariel- I so wanted to wear velvet Christmas day, and have the perfect vintage shift dress,
sadly I'm a slacker and have forgotten to alter it, so it currently hangs like a sack of spuds and isn't fit for the occasion :p

    Ok, Christmas day outfit help

    I bought this top yesterday
as I've been longing for nude coloured lace in my wardrobe for so long
    http://www.newlook.co.uk/1884195/188419501/ProductDetails.aspx
I'm thinking of layering it with a black tee, and high waisted dark denim shorts and black (maybe sparkly) tights
    but idk...it doesn't seem right?

Sadly, a lot of my clothes are hanging off me at the moment, and a) it's not a look good, and something I aim to recitfy in the new year I hope :o and b) it'll cause yet more comments from the family I'll be seeing.

Does this outfit sound okay? Any other ideas of what I could wear the lace with?

    Hi everyone.

LIR - I like the sound of the belt - I had a similar one years ago fromPrimark but I never really knew how to wear it.

Daisybella, I can't see your top, the site is broken, perhaps we crashed it all trying to see! Family can be so insensitive and say things that they wouldn't dream of saying to a friend or colleage, but think it's OK to make personal comments to you - hope it's not too bad, I'm sure they mean well. xx

I am loving my outfit today:

    I am wearing:
Tunic dress (ebay) - I've been having a bit of a splurge as Xmas present from DH
The dress is beige with cats, clocks and rainbows in purple, brown and turquoise and is so pretty.
    Purple leggings- Sainsburys £3 ish
Brown long sleeve top under the dress.
Brown knee high platform boots - debenhams £40 ish about 6 years ago but not worn much.

Just been to the Hospital Volunteers Xmas do - I'm so glad one of the other Peer Supporters was there as everyone else was retirement age, they were all very nice though and it was good to meet everyone and the buffet was amazing!

I am going to start a Facebook photo album called "when I made an effort" or something and put in the photos of me in my outfits.
Anyone else on FB want to be friends PM me and I'll point you in the right direction - This is my cop out of doing a blog!

    Vicki xx
  • Wow, why have I not seen this thread before!! Will have to have a scan through the 2000 odd posts tomorrow!

So to begin (if that's ok?) today I've been wearing my 'flu outfit':

    Thai fisherman pants
Lion King t-shirt from about 13 years ago but it still fits!
    Wooly socks!

Ooh cute top Daisy. I am hopeless at imagining outfits though - any chance you could try it on and post a pic on your blog or on here so we can see it?

Shall I fess up to my fairly dull Christmas clothing purchase? Ok, my name is Alex and I'm a jumperaholic. So I've bought a longish fitted cosy pale grey jumper, even though it's incredibly plain and looks a bit like school uniform :o I like comfort at Christmas and we always just have a quiet family day so I don't really bother dressing up. To be worn with either new jeans or black leggings and some silver jewellery. Please don't mock me for being dull!
