Hi everyone, just popped in to say hello, been mad busy lately, Christmas is really causing me grief this year everything seems to be hard work and lots of things going wrong in the house and other family members having problems, nothing serious but just stuff that needs sorting. Hope everyone is ok, just had a brief look at this page, goan, are you sorted with flights? I miss posting on here but hope to get back to it soonish, clothes wise, I am on a mad spending bender:eek: I bought my dd her first pair of heels the other day, patent pixie boots from New Look, she wore them to her first concert on Saturday night, I fear I might of started something cos she loved them:DThank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Welcome back, Glowgirl - I've missed you!!!! Everything comes to a head at this time of year.
How sweet about your DD's heels. How old is she?
No joy with flights at the mo, we're just supposed to sit tight and wait for BA to get in touch. Channel 4 news wanted to interview me yesterday but in the end didn't have a camera crew close enough. All I could think of was "OMG! My roots need touching up, wonder if I can do the interview in a hat?":o
Daisy - shame I'm so far from you, I love wrapping parcels! Got some sparkly confetti today (50p for 3 packs) and have been liberally sprinkling it into cards and gift bags, my friends are going to be covered in glitter when they open everything.0 -
Thanks goanmad, dd is 14, love the bit about your roots:rotfl:a girl after my own heart, fingers crossed for you;)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

I'm not a belt person either, they just don't sit right on me and they feel so restrictive.
Bronnie the hat is lovely, fuzzy berets are always good. I've got a black angora one I bought in Tesco a couple of years ago and I wear it lots.
That's a very good philosophy Goan. I pretty much stopped 'dressing' for a few years when I was with my ex as he was, let's say a very strong personality and anyone who didn't just wear jeans and t-shirts was 'wrong'. Black was also 'wrong'. I'm slowly but surely getting myself back though0 -
booo i've got flu so its vest top and shorts in mint leopard print pj's and big fluffy red dressing coat :xmassmile
What's everyone wearing for xmas day -i don't know what to wear?????

lily- oh no, flu sucks, get well soon!
No idea what I'm wearing Christmas day yet, haha, I did buy a long peach lace vest yesterday that I may wear with high waisted dark denim shorts, tights and a tee under it,
but I am just as likely to stay in PJs all day0 -
Belts! How timely!
I saw a belt I liked this week....its not cheap though and it would be ''to slim in to''. But its the only one, so I'm tempted to go and get it...only I'm not sure if I really like it or only think I do....
help! Its very wide at the front, but narrows at the side which looks more comfortable, and then at the back...and here is the ''clincher''on comfort...it has a section of elastic, so it looks kind of like something from a saddlers....now I think I like that...being a horsey girl and all, and I am not good at belts because I hate restriction too...so seems like a good thing...but I wondered if in fact it would look really ugly! I could wear it, for example, with my charity shop find of embroidered sundress/nighty....
Shall I get it? Tell me...please!0 -
Ooh Lir, not the best person to advise on belts as after about ten minutes they annoy me and get taken off,
but, from experience, belts with elastic are more comfortable,
I guess the things to weigh up are:
how many outfits would you wear it with
how often are you likely to wear it
I'd say if the answers to both of the above are "lots"
then go for it0 -
Lostinrates! Get the belt! I love belts, they completely change an outfit (and sell well on eBay if you change your mind).
Lillyandlolas - get well soon. Xmas day? Possibly the velvet maxi dress I bought at the Clothes Show or if not, the hand crocheted gold maxi I bought at a car boot a couple of months ago.
Mariel - many years ago I had a boyfriend who used to moan at the way I dressed and complain that I didn't dress like a "normal person" which I found bizarre as surely the way you dress is the first thing people notice about you and must have attracted him to me in the first place. Needless to say his constant whingeing and criticism soon led to me giving him the elbow. Compromise, moi? Never!0
