GrammarGirl, I agree with the other carboot tips (esp having a sign saying what sizes the clothes are and maybe sorting them by size), you seem to have it all figured out! I would definitely visit your stall.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Hi everyone, todays rather ropey outfit is
Levis straight leg dark jeans
floaty red and cream off the shoulder top - new look
Ted Baker flat cream and white ankle boots with multicoloured flowers (they sound so dodgy but I promise they are nice;))
white spy bag - Fendi
Not sure whats up with this outfit just doesn't feel right but am too busy to get changed
Lostinrates - writing is very therapeutic isn't it? I love the sound of the blue outfit too:)
GrammerGirl - What area are you in, I'm in Essex and going to a huge car boot tomorrow, could that be where your going? Slim chance I know but thought I'd ask:DBest of luck with it, my experience of selling at car boots was when I was about 19, just to get some cash to go out that night, my friend and I did it and people where arguing over 10pI just don't have the patience and sold the lot to a fellow trader on the understanding that we wouldn't be back next week:rotfl:
Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0 -

Hi glowgirl - no, I'm in Yorkshire, quite a bit away from Essex! :rotfl:
Thanks all for your tips. I'm really looking forward to it, despite the early start! We've got pretty printed clothes for our tables and the floor, vintage suitcases for shoes, bags and belts and a huuuuge clothes rail! We're making cute card signs for everything and individually pricing things too. I might even make a big bow to put on my massive old TV in the hope that it'll sell for more than £10! :j0 -
:eek:Ahhhhh. Blue dress is out, it looks like a maternity dress, by tummy is really bloated and the bridget Jones pants jut made it look just like a baby.
I also have gained 11lbs TODAY:eek::eek: despite taking some aqua ban and, eating the grand total of 164 calories
I think its just as well I have a medical appt in the morning0 -

Aaah, sorry to hear that, LIR. Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. x0 -
GrammarGirl, your stall sounds it'll be just great. One of the antiques fairs I go to does the same sort of thing, so it looks like a gorgeous big dressing table, and it's alway the first one I head for.
Just been pottering today, been to the shops, sorted out clothes for holiday next week, and now I'm sat with a Cadburys buttons icecream cone watching Corrie. Oh the excitement!!
Currently wearing:
black sailor tattoo print a-line skirt (Get Cutie)
black tshirt
Lostinrates, I've been there before  does the dress really look wrong or do you just not feel comfortable in it? Hope your appointment goes well tomorrow.0 -
Grammar Girl, my number one recommendations are have everything priced, labelled and on hangers ready to just lift out and go, have a nice burly bloke standing by to keep the dealers from shoving you aside to get into the car first, have all your change ready in your apron (lots of pound coins and a few fivers) and have a load of old supermarket carrier bags, a flask of hot coffee and a box of sandwiches, as you won't want to miss the peak sale time just for a cup of coffee and a bacon roll!
On the clothes front, black bootlegs, cornflower blue wrap jumper, hair in white clip. No makeup (it's another day when I'm giving everything a rest)I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Thanks Jojo, that's really helpful. I think we've got it all covered, except the burly bloke! My OH (although in no way burly) refuses to get up at 5.30am on a Sunday... I can kind of see his point! There are two of us though, I think we might be a force to be reckoned with!
Is it terrible that I'm going to take a calculator to work out change?Maths is not my strong point, and although I know how easy it is to work out change and can do it, in a time restrained situation I panic and lose the ability to count!
