Spent ages rabbiting with guy at meditation class about local music shops, bass guitars, finger picking vs. plectrum, damage to nails when showing off guitar playing to children, recovering lost image files on apple macs, Red Bull, degree study and all the things that you aren't really supposed to be giggling about when everyone else is quietly discussing their karmic overload!!!!!!

I hasten to add that this was after the meditation itself - I'm not that ill mannered (unlike the woman who crashed into the garden bellowing down her phone that she was going into meditation (10 minutes late), ignored the guy trying to tell her that the garden is closed during meditation classes, and then stomped in without apology to the teacher and spent the whole time afterwards complaining about how it was so much better at a different place). For those who have experienced Buddhist meditation, let's just say that I suspect she was quite useful for some during the 4th stage of the Metta Bhavana!
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, so slobbing around in tshirt and loose linen trousers, with a squoosh of Lutens Iris Silver Mist perfume to lift my spirits. Such a gorgeous smell.

OrangeProse, love your choice of fragrance today - that's one of the ones my husband wears and I love it.

Love it that in all the SATC talk, no-one wants to emulate Samantha's style!! :rotfl:

She actually dresses amazingly well, I'm just not a power-suit type. :o

Miranda and Charlotte have their moments too, I like the way they made Miranda more chic in the film than the TV series. She got better as time went on in the prog, but at the start she dressed a bit tomboyish! :)

Good morning - glad you're starting to feel better, esmecullen! Put a binbag over it for the shower! :)

I'm excited because it's Friday! And I have a great weekend planned, can't wait to get it started! So here's today's:

Mid-denim skinny jeans (£12, Primark, and they keep falling down!)
Blue and white striped shirt (£27, Thomas Pink sale)
    White vest
    Brown cardi
Long chunky gold necklace with peach ribbon (£2 vintage fair)
    Tan leather gladiators
Tan leather plaited waist belt (£6? H&M a while back)

I'm getting super-excited about the carboot I'm doing on Sunday - any of you carboot regulars have any tips? We're selling mostly clothes and accessories (hardly surprising!) and have a great rail to hang stuff and lots of cute boxes. We're trying to make our stall a bit pretty - vintage table cloth, everything hanging neatly, everything priced. Does this help or do you really not care at that hour?! Any advice greatly appreciated! :)

No major tips GrammarGirl (I've only done two car boots in my life!) but I would suggest haggling is good. If say you have a dress at £10 and someone comes up and says they'll give you £5, better to settle at £7.50 then not get a sale! But I like the fact you're making an effort with your stall, I'd definitely be more inclined to look at somewhere that was set out nicely. Call me picky but I can't abide something that requires a search if things aren't laid out neatly. Which is why I don't shop in H&M (though the Trafford Centre branch is an exception because that doesn't look like a bomb just hit it).

Make sure your pitch isn't near the hot dog/burger van though (if there is one) - the last thing you want is all your nice clothes smelling like onions or something!

    Anyhoo, today's outfit is:

    - Grey short sleeved jumper with sequins on shoulders (part of haul from sister)
    - Gold and pink brocade style print tulip skirt (Dorothy Perkins)
    - Black Victorian style ankle boots (New Look)
    - Black tights (M&S)
    - Usual jewellery

In work until about two or three (if my boss lets me go then), then off to London to see my boyfriend :D It's the first time I've seen him for three weeks so I'm rather excited about that. No big plans for tonight though other than that he's making me dinner and then I think we'll just chill out together at his flat.

    Have a good day everyone

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Pants. Pants.

My pain has been so improved by the treatment I've been having but is flooded back today. Treatment tomorrow morning but today I'm so busy. I also got on the scales and despite thinking I was losng weight (able to move etc) I've PILED on weight in the last fortnight. On top of that, the west country mosquitos had a midnight feast on my face and I'm bitten and blotchy and swollen. Thouroughly depressed and feeling very ugly. Worsened by guests arrived today to stay a week.:(

I'm not puttng on the slap until later: have various concoctions on face to try and reduce the swelling and redness, I'm tanked up on pain killers and I'm wondering what in the hell I'm going to do about this weight issue (and wondering if its connected to the treatment I'm undergoing.)

Can clothes really help? This moning I've pulled on the iffy ornage dress that hasn't helped. Tonight I think I'll hide legs under a a maxi dress. :( No heels, my guests are Italian and I'll feel even more elephantine. (DH is, um, about the same height as me in heels). I'm wondering if I should go for the confidence boosting bue outfit, or whether feeling so ugly might spoil its magic spell for furture occasions.

I'd hardly call myself a regular (having only been to one!) but it sounds to me like you're doing it perfectly. I just avoided the stalls that had big piles of clothes jumbled up and accessories all over the place as I couldn't face the prospect of rummaging through huge piles of stuff, even if it might have bagged me a bargain or two. Are all the clothes the same size? If so, might it be worth marking up the rail as "size 10" etc?

(((lostinrates))) Can your doctor help at all with the problems with weight loss? The maxi dress sounds lovely (wish I was tall enough to get away with wearing them!) What's the blue outfit like?

I put no effort into getting ready this morning at all - am feeling really lacklustre at the moment. So it's:

    Black canvas boots (Office)
Jeans (Evans - these really need binning now, another 2.2lbs lost this week :j )
Cornflower blue long line vest top (Dotty P's)
Black cashmere-ish cardi (Next clearance store)

Thank you, I feel better just for typing it actually. :o I'm under medical supervision anyway, and the weight issue is part of it. There is not much more anyone can do sadly. I just feel annoyed about it.

The blue outfut is a maxi dress, bolero cardi, loads of wooden and gold jewellery (I would where some lovely blue paisly wedges from a Next sale (the only time I've been in next for years, usually its ''not for me'').

The blue outfit sounds like a winner to me! I love blue and gold.

Have you taken antihistamines for your bites? Not sure if you can with painkillers, but it might take the swelling down a bit. You can buy Anthisan cream too, although that might just help with the itching. Poor you, sounds like you're suffering this morning! Makeup, hair done and a pretty dress on always cheers me up, hopefully it'll do the same for you. :)
