Hi all, sorry I've been a bit absent for a while..Been nice and busy with both jobs, and the potential of a third to start at the weekend, so at least it's all keeping me buys
Today's outfit is a black puffball dress with ice cream and milkshake print and pink buttons, and a grey cardi covered in tiny pink bows, both from George, grey tights and a pair of pink and red Irregular Choice boots (see pic on blog), which are my flood shoes of the moment..
Will have a read-up of the most recent posts and get back later with more time, but hope you are all ok0 -
Morning...err, afternoon
funny old day here,
wavering between good mood and floods of tears for no real reason?!
Mum dragged me out and treated me to a coffee, and then a soya candle that smells like cinnamon buns,
and I feel better for getting some air. Have just eaten a bowl of mashed butternut squash- odd, but SO good.
Wearing:
White long sleeve top- river island
puple floral summer dress- new look
green tights- primark
patent black mary janes- new look0 -
You sound lovely and preppy today Min
I've gone for:
Black canvas ankle boots - Office
Indigo jeans - Dotty P's
Ancient white shirt - no idea, the label is so faded.
Slouchy long line black v neck jumper - Dotty P's
No jewellery but I've got curly hair today
Currently pondering Christmas dresses. Now I never wear skirts or dresses usually but I'm feeling a bit more confident this year and I already have some fab chocolate brown fishnets and divine Irregular Choice green suede heels. I'm not brave enough (or slim enough) to wear anything too short or obviously party-ish so the hunt is on for something lovely.
Do people think this is too plain? http://www.marksandspencer.com/Autograph-Weekend-Drape-Dress-Wool/dp/B002OXPVZK?ie=UTF8&qid=1259151059&categoryNodeID=42967030&ref=sr_1_2&page=&node=192501031&sr=1-2&mnSBrand=core&rh=0 -
I LOVE that dress Alex, the draping makes it not plain, and ugh....I WANT it now! Hurrah for feeling more confident0

Love the dress, Alex, think it will go well with the shoes - I take it you mean the Schuh exclusives, with the different shades of green suede? They're lovely and you'll look fab !!0

I'd try it on. It could be either very flattering, or not! so try it on, have a look. I also think it would benfit from a full slip, if you look at the back, to help it over curves. Beautiful colour, I like it. You deserve to be feeling confident, you're doing amazingly well!
edit: those shoes are yummy.0 -
You both beat me to it!!
Was just searching for the shoes............they are beautiful. Love the dress too! Was going to say the same as LIR about the dress......if you go instore to try it on grab a slip ( I think a full slip is easier to wear than a waist one that can create another ripple with the elastic round your middle!!) at the same time to try it on with, it will help the dress 'sit' better as they can cling a bit awkwardly when you're wearing tights I think.
M& do a basic full slip for around a £5 in a confusing assortment of lengths!
You've done so well with your weight loss, it's time to work those curves now, girl!!0 -
Afternoon my lovelies! Hope you're all warm and dry.
Love the dress, Alexnikov! It looks very expensive and "designery".
Welcome back, Piratefairy and sorry to hear of your weird mood, Daisy. Your Mum sounds lovely, would she like to adopt me? Not sure about cold butternut squash but adore it hot. Min- good luck with tomorrow's interview.
Just back from Pilates after a morning of wrapping parcels, washing and doing housework. I've found travel insurance and airport parking and dear old BF has offered to do my accounts now I've printed them off - I think it's guilt as he's only gone and bought YET another vintage VW off eBay. I may get the sewing machine out this afternoon, I feel a creative moment coming on.
Today's outfit was chucked on at the last minute when I realised I'd only got 15mins before my class started:
Grey hareems (TopShop sale)
Yellow Kate Moss @ TopShop vest (A couple of years old)
Mango skinny fit long sleeved button-thru' black top (car boot)
Vintage black leather slouch boots (jumble sale)
Fringed black and orange silk scarf (jumble sale)
Silver tribal bangles and rings (India)
Antique silver earrings with turquoise stone (Mum's jewellery box)
Hair in a big messy bun
Enjoy the rest of your day!

Yup, they're the shoes. I adore them
Thanks for the advice ladies! I'll ring up the Liverpool store and see if they have it in stock, then perhaps nip into town one night after work and try it on. Fingers crossed they do have it as I don't fancy trekking to Manchester and they don't have my size available online
goanmad - you sound super organised. When do you leave?0
